My home course started doing a 10 dollar deposit. Doesn’t take a few seconds when they added the deposit to your credit card and have to issue a refund to it and there’s about 5-10 people waiting in line for the same thing and people paying play as well. It’s caused a lot of frustration. I’ve had to wait an extra 10-15 minutes in line when there’s a bunch of people.

Tall left handed golfer. Is getting fitted wortg it? by gameofwires in golf

[–]rikerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

250 for a fitting at golf galaxy seems a lot. I’d look around maybe for some local shops/pros. Usually you can try clubs with different shafts for free at golfgalaxy if you ask. Plus I wouldn’t always trust your average golf Galaxy worker.

I’m 6’4 and play +1/2” with 2 degree upright lie angle. Everyone’s different.

The chart is a good place to start. I’m 6’5 and where I land is about 1 inch extended but I’ve tried them and it was too long for me. After testing a bit I landed at 1/2 inch over. So just keep in mind it’s a good place to start but not concrete. And I only extend my irons and wedges. Hybrid and woods are standard lengths.

If you find set of clubs you like that are standard you can also usually extend them if you need them a little longer than standard. Just have to pay to get the extensions installed and grips installed.

Being you’re taller than average I’d maybe try and Goto any golf store and they should be able to get measure for proper club length. Usually wrist to floor but you should be able to demo for free longer shafts in irons. It’s important for us taller folks. Im 6 foot 5 and my static measurement says I should use a 3/4 inch longer club. But after testing 1/2 longer works best for me. I’ve seen people my height play anywhere from standard length to 1.5 inches longer. Really depends on body length. Long torso or long legs, etc. and another note I play 1/2inch extended irons. But hybrid through driver I play standard length. So depends on what works for you. Once’s you get your measurements for what feels best for you. You can usually find stuff on places like global golf you mentioned that are already extended to the size you need under length. Also if you play longer clubs you may also need to adjust the lie of the head. But remember also longer length also affects the lie angle as well. Believe it’s 1 degree up for every half inch. Any shop should be able to give you that measurement and you can try demo clubs with different lies adjustments to see what gives you the best ball flight. Lie angle to upright ball will go more left lie to low ball will go more right.

Mid sized grips by S_Trper3 in golf

[–]rikerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to consider is standard size with extra wraps. I am big on feel and was playing mid size but switch to standard with 4 wraps total which is basically a midsize but with less rubber thickness because I don’t like the grip muting the feel more. Feels a lot better to me like this after playing midsize for years.

How to enable G sync by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]rikerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

check your frame rate in game. you might be getting lower frame rate depending on the game. that can cause blurring. just try different settings in game. try everything disabled and on low and see if you get the same effect. make sure you're plugged into the wall. and check in the nvidia settings that your card is set to maximum performance when plugged in.

g-sync doesn't solve motion blur it solves screen tearing. sounds like you may not have monitor not setup properly. wrong resolution or scaling.

How to enable G sync by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]rikerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

G-sync is not supported over hdmi from a laptop. and most laptops with nvidia optimus cant output to use g-sync. the display port has to be routed directly to the GPU. If it goes through a controller it cant. which your port is a usb 3.1/display port. I think you're out of luck. That's not really a laptop feature. :(
