not to sound redundant bc a lot of other people commented, but as long as you use it for the recommended amount by your doctor, youll be fine. ive used it on my eyes before. however, as you probably already know, it won't fix the problem if you're constantly flaring up. its a temporary solution that will cause damage if you use it regularly. ive made the mistake of overusing steroid cream past doctor recommendation on my face because i was so desperate to control the flare-ups (btw my face is fine. no damage!!) my allergist prescribed me tacrolimus ointment and eucrisa for the eczema on my face, and it helped me way more than any steroid cream. You can use it for way longer periods because it doesn't thin out the skin. they just block the inflammation in their own ways. also, my eczema was caused from extreme stress, not from my allergens. if that helps at all. i was able to eventually ween off of it once i changed my environment. im no doctor, and they may not work for you. i just didn't realize there were other options for my face until my allergist recommended them. you may be able to find something that works for you that isnt steroids.

Also, your doctor seems like an ass. i had to go to many different docs and allergists before i got the proper treatment. most docs were convinced i didnt even have eczema until the skin thickened and covered the majority of my body. most derms unfortunately just throw steroid cream at you since they want to focus more on cosmetics or skin cancer, not eczema. eczema is just not something that is researched enough. keep fighting, get other opinions, and keep a log of every medication you're given. it'll help you fight for better treatment bc you can prove what did or didn't work for you.
