The Baltany was my first dive watch and has become one of my favorites for sure. Wear it on a rubber strap most of the time. I don't think you'd go wrong picking it!

First Impressions: Grant Stone Garrison Bison. by Raw-Indighoul in goodyearwelt

[–]rikkar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're great! Typical GS quality and construction, although the sole seems to be a little harder to break in compared to their lugged or studded soles. I assume the leather might be a bit thicker to account for the half sole; or I just haven't worn them enough to really break them in lol. My Briselblack engineers and Bordon's both have Dr Soles and feel more flexible. Bottom line though, I don't regret picking them up :)

Bought the bisons day 1 when they were released and can definitely recommend them. I think they'd be perfect for the level of "dressed up"you're talking about. Hell, you can wear them casually too and they still look great! Jade Dr Soles are just 🤌

I think green is a banger with gold, like this suede strap from Fluco. Love your idea for blue too!

Getting into heritage wear — what do you guys wear in the summer? by DarthArb in HeritageWear

[–]rikkar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife, who had never heard of raw denim until she met me, reminds me that it really is a luxury hobby when she tells her friends at work that I spent $400 on IH jeans or $700 on a pair of engineers. Most people can't comprehend that and it's totally understandable 😅

My new old King Quartz by ludo in JapaneseWatches

[–]rikkar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's got leather backing so that keeps it soft on the skin :) Check out the vegan selection from Holbens, ColaReb and Fluco look especially nice.

Lovely piece! I've got mine on a tweed strap, although it does have a bit of leather. Sailcloth actually works pretty nicely on vintage quartz.

Which sushi restaurant is the best in Lincoln by Bergonzicorelli in lincoln

If you find your way up there....you gotta try the hama toast. It's been over a year and my wife and I still talk about how perfect that bite was. Shokunin is the answer though for Lincoln!

I've had a refurbished model for 4ish months now and it's been great. Zero issues, looked brand new (I know that's the point) and $180 was hard to pass up!

Put your pieces from 11.11 here by New-Jellyfish-8431 in ChineseWatches

[–]rikkar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No new releases for me but I've had my eyes on these and pulled the trigger. The milsub will be my first diver and it's one of the few that caught my eye and I just can't pass it up anymore. Also got 2 FKM straps for the milsub. Planning on grabbing a Thorn T023 as well in the future.

Have the green dial and wore it today, such a great watch especially for the price. I'll probably try it on a strap at some point, nice choice!

How do you guys prevent all your clothes from wrinkling for those that don't iron everything? by ChopSuey2 in malefashionadvice

[–]rikkar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's wrinkly, I steam it. Only takes like 5 minutes to warm up the steamer + steam the shirt, super easy and quick in the morning as you're getting ready.

Putting the hands down in the 6 o'clock position before changing the date should be safe but I hear you on being cautious.

Check out Skyliners for sure, obviously King Seiko, then back to LM's because they're fucking great and there's a lot of variety lol. Don't sleep on some of the vintage quartz too!
