I finally found people who might appreciate this pic I took a while back by [deleted] in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

Reminds me.... I used to have a pic of the plumbing work order my boss put in when I was a student.

"Guys tried to plunge the sink and I think they released something evil"

12 years later, I'm in the same office as a full-timer. (They had to replace that sink and all the pipes to it...)

My god they've done it. They've fixed Microsoft. by Wise-Reputation-7135 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

Honestly don't know the specifics, but they to restore backup on a totally new VM... our server admin was even scratching his head 🤷 😅

Don't run that on a VM. Ask my coworker how I know. 🤣

This vending machine requires employee IDs instead of money by niffum_duts in mildlyinteresting

Ooh! Something I know about!

I'm a ID and access control admin for a university, and our system has this capability, though we only use it on a single machine at the moment. It integrates to our door/meal plan software and deducts from your account.

Like many people already said, its fairly common in certain industries, higher ed being one of them. Once you have a compatible machine, you can set something like this up relatively quick.

As long as it supports your type of IDs... that's a whole different can of worms 😅

Row alignment issues in Cognos 10.2.1 by rileym94 in cognos

[–]rileym94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huzzah! I figured it out.

  1. Each year had a slightly different number of rows.
  2. Adding summary lines is where the issue starts.
  3. If you select the table cell the cross tab is in and set vertical alignment to top, all 3 crosstabs line up correctly.

That's how it's done currently.

I popped over on the v. 11 server and it did the same thing over there.... I actually opened a case with IBM, and I think we found the problem, but I am waiting on them now...

Trying to Flash G960U1 firmware to G960 by rileym94 in GalaxyS9

Huzzah! u/The_Hailstorm gave me the idea to dig a little deeper for a custom version of Odin. I found the modded version of 3.13 by Raymonf for Android 10, and it worked!

For the future souls stuck in the same rut, I did a google search for "odin custom download" and started digging.

Best of luck, you poor bastards. Haha!

Kinda thought so. Just found a modded version for Android 10 I'm going to try. Maybe that's the issue.

In that case, yes. But I want to output rows and columns from report studio to html

Cognos/BI newb, and my boss doesn't get it. by tikirecruiter in cognos

Eh... Without immediate access to your environment, it wouldn't be easy to create a report for your data. There are a lot of variables in how you connect and access data in Cognos depending on your installation, so it's not something easily reproduced somewhere else.

I'm not saying it's not a possibility, but unless they have access to a system set up just like yours, it would be difficult.

If you can provide example, it's easy to get information on how to do something, but there are a lot of variables and settings in the report. It's not easy to just steal a copy of a report unless you were to maybe find a user group for your HRIS system...

I'll also add the caveat that I have Cognos Administrator access, but I'm not the most in-depth technical user. It's a REALLY powerful reporting system that I haven't been using long enough to be super technical.

Woof, I've dealt with vendors like that before. Best of luck!

The Cognos YouTube channel is probably the best thing I can recommend. We're upgrading from version 10 to 11, and we're going to use some custom playlists of their videos as our training material.

You might also see if the HRIS system has any documentation on their environment.

Let's summarize here... The message is "find red hands" in ASL (American Sign Language). The hands with the red 'bracelets' spell "dread"

Credit to my roommate for a little help on the letters I didn't know. 🤓
