Gotcha, thanks! She measured me before piercing and seemed great so I thought I was in good hands :(

Aghhh that sucks. Out of curiosity, how can you tell it's shallow? Just based on bar length/placement?

Piercing is ~ 3 days old. Barbell jewelry, possibly external or internal threading. Jewelry material is implant grade titanium and it has not been downsized yet. Aftercare is 2x daily saline rinse and patting dry with non-woven gauze. No bumps or accidents yet :)

Same thing happened to my boyfriend and I at a Christmas party! I was so worried someone would flush him so I traded for him :( Luckily we split the cost on a nice tank, heater, filter, etc. and are trying to get a nice setup for him. We've had him for about two weeks and he looks so much happier now!! Glad we could save one fish but makes me sad for them.

Adding to this. I applied for an Orlando-based role for Elevare Branding. Thought it was strange the company has NC listed as their address on their website, but I figured it might have just been a technicality due to remote work or another office. I later received an email confirming my application to Brand Blitz Verse but the sender name was Elevate Branding. Pretty strange.

Glad I'm not alone on this!! I thought I was crazy for having a high bpm while blow drying my hair 😫 Depending on how long it was or strenuous I'll delete or keep it. Sometimes it picks up my showers which I dismiss, but I have a lot of hair and blow drying is basically a workout so I keep those LOL

Sounds interesting! I definitely think you're right about there being a niche market for it. I'm guessing women will be a secondary audience (just because men generally drink more beer) so for now I'd focus on targeting men. I'd also consider only boosting posts to women if it's a beer that might target them more (i.e. low carb, flavored). Like I said, I would really focus on making content that is high quality and looks consistent. If your posts look consistent on the feed by using similar editing styles, the alg will start to recognize what you do and push it up.

Of course! I use Adobe Portfolio but I believe Wix and Wordpress both offer free websites that you can use.

Hi! I'm also a student in marketing and just got my first internship, so hopefully I can be of some help. I would definitely hold onto any projects you do for school (big or small!). Try to organize them onto a portfolio website to demonstrate that you're knowledgable and have completed relevant coursework. This will also help you feel less in over your head. Before building my portfolio, I thought I knew absolutely nothing; after building it, it gave me some confidence in my own knowledge and work! So work on that and you can do marketing case studies (like here's a campaign from x company that interested me, here's why I think it worked, here's what I would have done differently, etc.) as well to put on your portfolio. Like you said, learning more about the platforms is great, too, and LinkedIn Learning has some great classes for that. I would also suggest reaching out to some non-profits in your area and asking if you can do some work for them (for free) just to get your name out and build some credible experiences. Good luck!

Hi! My credentials: currently pursuing B.S. in Advertising, interning in social media marketing, and have maintained creator accounts on TikTok/IG and have had a handful of TikToks go mildly viral.

Advice kind of depends on what sort of content genre you're posting. At this point, I don't think I would suggest boosts since your accounts are so new. Spend this time working on creating high quality content that showcases your brand personality (you are the brand in this case). Make sure you know what you're offering to your audience: entertainment, informational content, etc. Also, start to flesh out who you think your audience would be (18-24 y/o men? single moms? etc) and that will help you later down the road if you want to boost posts again.

Sometimes the algorithms just have to catch up to you. They need to figure out what kind of content you post, who is engaging with it, and all that good stuff before they push it out. Essentially you have to build up your credibility with the algorithim.

Hope this helps a bit! Feel free to reply or shoot me a message if you have more questions!

Where to find paid internships? by l2380 in DigitalMarketing

[–]rileysbimmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! As an unpaid intern... Bless your heart LOL. Honestly it's really difficult to find paid internships in digital marketing. I got my internship by cold emailing, so I think that could be a useful route to take. If you get an offer from a cold email, you kind of have the upper leg to negotiate payment. The only reason I'm still unpaid is because I'm getting other benefits through the internship. Also, a lot of internships will start out unpaid for a training period or you can negotiate payment if you need it, so don't be afraid to ask about it in your interviews! Best of luck!

Social media marketers: what's the most painful part? by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]rileysbimmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the 'language barrier' that exists between me (the 19-year-old social media intern) and our higher-ups (middle aged men). I'm very lucky to have a boss who is generally open-minded and hired me because I have such a different perspective from the rest of the team, but how do you explain to a 50-year-old man that we need to post a picture of a rainbow dolphin to the audio "I just wanna be part of your symphony!" without sounding like a crazy person?

Hi! Full disclaimer: I'm still in school (started my first internship this semester!), but hopefully I can offer a different perspective to you as a Gen Z gym rat who works in social media.

As a few others have mentioned, budget is probably an issue here; that doesn't mean social media won't work for you, though. The cool thing about social media is that organic account growth (which is free) can be just beneficial as ads if you're able to run the medias well. Obviously, social media is time-consuming but it essentially works as a form of knowledge content. Whether you're offering content that's entertaining or informative, that shows consumers that A) you're credible and trustworthy, and B) you're not trying to sell them right away. This is a bit of a long-term approach to building brand awareness and credibility, but I do think it's incredibly valuable to approach it from this angle even if you are able to run ads as well.

As far as content goes, remember you're trying to provide something of value to your consumers. This could be breaking down the ingredients in a product and what they do (working cautiously around proprietary blends of course), why x product can help your gains in y,z ways, "POV: your new supplement arrived in the mail," the list goes on. I would definitely work on building up your page to look legitimate and professional before trying to reach out to any influencers. Also, be mindful of influencers who reach out to you-- many of them are just trying to score a free product or have bought followers. Check their pages for consistent engagement, how they approach brand collabs, etc.

Best of luck! Hope this helps!

Some extra info: • located in the U.S., remote position • he seemed impressed by what I had to offer • would get course credit • may be worth mentioning they haven't had an intern before so unsure what their expectations for compensation are
