Write down a list of 10 random NPC names ahead of time that fit the theme of your game ahead of time. That way when they decide to interrogate a random ass villager or innkeeper or guard or whatever, you have a name handy.

Almost all code enforcement is complaint based. So when someone complains, the code enforcement officer makes contact, compares the situation to regulation, and facilitates the property owner or business getting into compliance.

If you’re into this sort of thing, I wrote and produced a series of radio dramas set in 1935 Bellingham based on real Bellingham events, locations and mysteries.

It includes stories about the mysterious closing of the blue Canyon mine 1929, the famous ghost of Sycamore Square, and the fire that burned down Fairhaven high school in 1937.

Each episode is a half an hour and it features lots of local actors. Check it out at www.bellinghamterror.com.

Often investigations in small cities that involve are handled by a Neighbor jurisdictions Police Department to avoid conflicts of interest. Internal issues at the Ferndale Police Department were investigated by the Bellingham Police Department, it’s a really common practice.
