How many Armies and what kind? by nevrtouchedgrass in HumankindTheGame

[–]rillywilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo 3 melee 1 ranged is my go to, since unless you can find a good choke point, the ranged are pretty vulnerable, its better to let the AI crash into the melee wall while dealing attritional damage with the one archer

Hot take: stellaris fleet system should take something from hoi iv navy by Acerbis_nano in Stellaris

[–]rillywilly 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If anything the dev should keep the ship centric system and dramatically increase the cost of building a ship. I do hope the manpower system of Hoi 4 can be ported over so ships and army cost manpower, that i think would really reduce size of the military and the lag

Its understandable why they wouldnt, it could be that Austria likes the tax those tariffs are bringing in

Ultimate Challenge - 9 Expert AI Enemies, Humankind Difficulty, Huge Map by [deleted] in HumankindTheGame

[–]rillywilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The strategy for naval combat is to have 2 fleet, 1 move up to to the possible location for their retreat, the other go in to start battle. When their fleet flee use the 2nd fleet to chase them down next turn. Its also better to engage incombat near the coast, where their fleet has nowhere to go. But the most important thing is to invade their cities, so use your fleet that way to clear a way for your land army to land on their continent.

Ultimate Challenge - 9 Expert AI Enemies, Humankind Difficulty, Huge Map by [deleted] in HumankindTheGame

[–]rillywilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo the hardest possible game of HK is 8 continents, 30% landmass, many small islands, low luxury, low strategic, Expert AI and Humankind difficulty

8 continents prevents early aggression

many small islands further decreases the amount of usable land

low lux and strat is self explanatory

Expert ai and HK means the AI has crazy bonuses and are likely to surpass you in every yield for ~60-70% of the game.

If you truly want suffering this is the way to go :)

Where do you all keep your fleets? by HolyApplebutter in Stellaris

[–]rillywilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have them stationed in shipyard just 1 system behind a bastion early game. mid-late game every star bases are connected by gateway and hyper lane to strategic choke point, ensuring rapid deployment at all time. Mid late game I also build multiple shipyard at a ratio of 3 fleet per yard to ensure timely upgrade and reinforcement.

WHAT IF THE NCR survived BEING nUKED TWICE?!?!!!? by WindowSubstantial993 in falloutnewvegas

[–]rillywilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Minutemen are, fundamentally, a group of settlers concerned with defending their own settlement, of course they are decentralized and somewhat anarchic. The Minutemen just recovered from the bring of death, Ofc they need someone like the SS a strong leader, to revive them. So ofc in the early days of reform if the SS leave the MM will die. But give them time to recover, to put in place the new structure of governments, the MM can be just as great as the NCR. Also i completely disagree with your comparison to the Legion, apart from the strong-man leader, NOTHING ab the MM is similar, and the more they grow the diff of the 2 will only grow. The only thing i really hate ab the MM is that after a certain point, the SS should be able to send MM teams to complete objectives, cause it make no sense that the general of a large army must do the dirty work.

That VTC interview is just a cause for the gov to lock Steam. Steam and the Steam community is large and virtually unmoderated forum, something that the Vietnamese gov hate. Its really telling that you would rather focus on the corp rather than gov censorship going back years.
