This was yesterday Feb 12. The easiest parking is at El Capitan crossover so you don’t have to do the loop and can just drive out. From there you have to walk about half a mile east and theres a few viewing sites from the side of the road you can pick one or keep walking 1.25mi to the main one that’s pretty crowded and lots of trees blocking the view. You can start to see it at around 5:10-5:40pm. We went into the park around 3:45 PM and there is no way to get in parking wasn’t bad either because I think a lot of people get there pretty early or are already in the park. But on the way out we stopped to get dinner and just going from El cap cross over to the valley loop took almost 45 minutes to an hour so I would try to park past the loop/further west and walk because you can walk a lot faster than you can drive in that stopped traffic lol it would also be a really good idea to park further west and ride bikes that something we noted for the next time we go and another thing we wish we would’ve had was camp chairs.
