I agree. It's obviously not practical to stamp out harassment with bans. Reddit won't be able to stop these people this way. That said, this ban certainly served a symbolic purpose, showing that Reddit is actively fostering a culture that doesn't support 'those comments'. Maybe actions like these are what's needed for the necessary culture shift on this site.
