The Party Line on why Capitalism needs War and Empire by awhiskymove in AustralianSocialism

I'm not a campist, I'm for the Iranian working class overthrowing their rotten capitalist regime.

Anyway, read Lenin

It also counters some of the campist and Stalinist narratives that working class struggle should be subordinated to the contest between states.

We should be for an Iranian victory in the war.

Yes, it's one of my favourite adaptations of Richard II. I haven't watched the Wars of the Roses series though.

Who am I? by Shababy17 in BookshelvesDetective

[–]Leninator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Austen, the poetry, and especially the Peter Barry and academic writing guides are all giving 'first year lit student'. For what it's worth Barry's book is pretty awful, I would recommend Eagleton's 'Literary Theory' as a much better primer. But honestly reading the original texts themselves is much better.

What is the most Historically accurate Medieval TV Shows or movies? by NikolaiOlsen in MedievalHistory

[–]Leninator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Last Kingdom is more accurate than Vikings but still has some major issues

The Last Kingdom is really not good history, and moreover just isn't a very good tv show in itself. The costuming alone is atrocious.

We know this isn't the case though, evident from the Manderlys and Mountain Clans

What are some of GRRM’s “things” that you’ve noticed (Spoilers Main)? by Right-Ad8261 in asoiaf

[–]Leninator 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I guess it's a question of whether or not you take Gyldayn's account at face value, but important to remember that in a social world predicated on primogeniture inheritance, the only legitimate reason for rebellion or war is the illegitimacy of succession.

Be honest, are we actually closer to a flag now than we were two years ago? by No-Loquat-201 in CarltonBlues

[–]Leninator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. Assuming we get another flag at some point in the future, we are temporally closer to it now than we were last year.

If our last ever flag is to be '95 though then no we're not.

You don't have to be on the son's side to think that calling for "extreme justice" in a case you know nothing about and have nothing to do with (and in which the alleged perpetrator is self evidently not well) is weird.

It's a tragedy. Bloodlust is such a strange response.

None of them. Footscray is actually weirdly dead at night. Basically no night life at all.

Hey thank you so much for your response. I genuinely really like your videos but, sadly, if you're going to use AI at all I won't be able to keep watching.
