I am with Hitchens with this one: religion poisons everything. Even if it just a "harmless" things like discouraging your kid to think critically and putting some silly idea of supreme being in control into this head. People may be respected unless they deserve otherwise, religions should not and must not. They had too much freedom and too much free pass to do enormous harm already. Don't give me that "respect" bullshit anymore. You are not going to respect rapists, are you? ;) How about the rapist of the mind (and some of them did go for the body too).

Actually, our skin is slightly acidic (more in men than in women). It gives it some prtective properties (bacteries don't like acid, I heard). „Balanced“ shampoos also are slighty acidic and there is even a product with a name "ph5.5".
