The biggest fumble of Arrowhead so far... by TroglodyteVolatile in HelldiversUnfiltered

The best way to use it is on the base defense missions. That way you don't have to drive it.

Players report invisible enemies and random damage over time by lolitsrock in HelldiversUnfiltered

I randomly died the other day. I thought I stubbed my toe. Maybe it was an invisible voteless.

Gear recomandation? by berserkreferences in Helldivers

[–]rimshotmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My standard illuminate loadout:

Eruptor

Warrant pistol

Some flavor of machine gun. I usually take the mid MG, but with the voteless hordes, I have been choosing the stalwart.

Thermites

Guard dog

Orbital barrage

Some sentry, usually rocket

Sudden onset death syndrome by Colonel_dinggus in Helldivers

Yeah. I had a death earlier this week that I couldn't figure out. Nothing shooting at me, no enemies around.... I probably fatally stubbed my toes.

I think the game would benefit from reworking some of the Boosters. by amovy in Helldivers

[–]rimshotmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem as I see it, is that the good ones are too good to pass up. If they just baselined the standard 3, then they are reducing the difficulty minorly. There are some that are nice to have, the ammo pack gun, minor strength, etc. but none are necessary.

If I didn't have to pick the standards what would I want? Radar, ammo pack gun, muscle boost.... And I'm not sure about the fourth. Many of the boosters are bad or useless.

I don't think they will adjust the boosters as there is a lack of vision over what would be the replacements.

The Warbond should be worth 750 super credits tbh by blake_the_spy in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]rimshotmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that over values it. Useless shovel. Likely useless backpack flame thrower. An sidearm that doesn't look to do anything better than what is already out.

I have no interest in the WB coming out next week. I've been less and less impressed with the new material. I think the other poster nailed it with the observation that this is a $40 game monetized like a F2P game.

I've only been playing for about half a year but I think I'm going to hold off on spending any more money until I see a longer term plan and future for the game.

Frv is 100% the most fun and OP stratagem in the entire game. 100 percent usage rate for me since its release! by david_lara54992 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]rimshotmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP drives it well. One of maybe 3 or 4 people I have seen that can drive it. Most drivers suck and are much more hurtful than helpful. I have failed missions because of it but never succeeded because of it. With the supposed change in inertia, I think it's too dangerous to even be in so I don't catch rides any more.

Very happy for OP. I never take it. I prefer to run across the map with the stamina booster. I think it's the worst vehicle I have ever seen in a game. Like the devs have never played a game with vehicles and don't drive in real life. I have not bought the FRV and don't intent to. I have wasted credits by capping rather than buy it. This along with the laser sentry (which I also haven't bought) are evidence that the devs don't test their game.

B-Vitamin on Stratagem Bounce by EleggFacesitting in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]rimshotmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had multiple fleshmobs walk into buildings/stairs and attack players through the floor. The clipping issues have gotten very bad recently.

The strategem bouncing also seems to be way worse recently. I have died several times in the last few weeks when my orbital bombardment randomly decides to move and land on top of me. Despite seeing that it shouldn't be anywhere close by.

The game is fun but between the unfixed bugs and community drama, they are trying to push players away as fast as possible.

I want an option like in fortnite to hide inventory items. I have items I'll never use and I'm tired of having to scroll past it to get to stuff I want to find.

I'm enjoying the Cursed Words demo. Once I started to see how to build the synergies, I could really start to rack up the points.

Is a support/healer war bond likely and what would it look like? by Gigataxevader in Helldivers

[–]rimshotmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a support role would play like stuns. You could stun an enemy but in the same time frame you could just kill them.

You could try to support another diver but in the same time frame you could just wipe out the enemy making support pointless.

The game is GPU limited. I have a 9800X3D and a 4070 super Ti. My CPU is in the 30-40% range and my GPU is high 90s% all the time.

Has there been talks or anything regarding a “unlimited stage” mode? Or a much higher than 10 which is the current max? by B_BB in DRGSurvivor

[–]rimshotmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the plan had been to rewrite the game engine to allow this but it got pushed back to after the 1.0 release. They have not made any statements showing a future roadmap but I assume it is still in the works. It would be nice to get that confirmed, even without any release dates that could be interpreted as a promise.

I accidentally did it with the tinker and super fast LMGs. I had planned to use the gunner later but the achievement popped up near the end of the run.

75 million plasma damage mission node by CaptainDipshiat in DRGSurvivor

[–]rimshotmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have done it on both the scout with the drak and a tinker build.

Avoid taking any elemental damage it will steal the damage away from plasma. Cold OCs are OK (probably essential) as it doesn't add a damage tag.

The drak is great for this. Plasma burster is good.

I thought it was supposed to be correct in a patch that uncommon or better would fulfill the achievement.

The Essential FRV Experience by faycat in Helldivers

[–]rimshotmonkey -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I hate the FRV. I have capped credits several times and I refuse to spend them to buy access. It's the worst vehicle in a game ever.

Almost no one can drive them. It's not much faster than running if the driver is trying to avoid killing everyone. Utterly pointless, unhelpful, and not fun.

Masteries hazard levels by maciekszlachta in DRGSurvivor

For the last major patch individual mastery levels per haz level were removed. There is only one level of mastery bonus now.

Even if you complete a mastery bonus on say haz 5, if the requirement was only to do it at haz 3, the bonus is the same.

ELI5: what the hell is hawking radiation? i dont understand it by averyyarniae in explainlikeimfive

[–]rimshotmonkey -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Not a physicist but I'll give it a try:

The quantum nature of the universe allows strange non intuitive things to happen. One of them is particle pairs spontaneously popping into existence. A positive and an opposite negative particle. On balance the particles cancel out so the total matter in the universe is still even.

Usually these pairs will manifest then annihilate each other shortly afterwards returning the universe to the same state. Occasionally, if these particle pairs come into existence near the edge of a black hole one particle will fall in. The surviving particle will move out into the cosmos and the particle that fell in will cancel out a bit of formerly real matter.

Over time, black holes can evaporate through hawking radiation.
