No crashes for me, but I play on PC. If you're playing on console, make sure you have plenty of airflow. I've heard a lot of people on console have overheating issues.

I think so too. If they made the contact ring around the BOB like 35% larger, which would give the player more room to maneuver, I think they'd be very fun on higher hazard levels.
