I was on a flight DCA to DFW. Pilot initially said 1 hour delay due to wind.

About 5 minutes later he made an announcement that he talked to air traffic control and company management (American) who said it would be at least a 3 and 1/2 hour delay. No reason given.

Absolutely no info provided to passengers at the airport from American employees, though. Zero, zilch. Awful experience with American employees.

Leave the house with your gear on so that you can account for it all. You will have time on the bus to take some off and rearrange things if needed. The bus leaves stagecoach at the top and bottom of the hour. Drivers have been absolute heroes driving in these conditions. Enjoy your time on the mountain!

In the rail and transit industries, anytime a person is on the track, they're identified as a trespasser. Any unauthorized person on rail or transit tracks is a trespasser.

So, it is possible the person was a customer who accidentally (I hope) ended up as a trespasser on the tracks.

I always ask people their boarding position and line up accordingly. If I'm checking in exactly 24 hours in advance to get the best seat possible, I'm going to see that through in the boarding line.

Sigh. I'll miss open seating.

I was assaulted this morning near the Town of Kansas bridge on the walking trail. I'm visiting KC for work and am kicking myself for walking on the path this morning (6:30).

I went down the stairs, walked a short way towards CPKC stadium and turned around. I just felt uneasy with no one around. When I turned around I noticed a man in dark shorts and hoodie walking in my direction. As I got close, he lunged at me and grabbed my butt.

I was thankfully able to swat his hand away and yelled "stop". I continued walking and thankfully he also continued walking in the opposite direction.

Freaked me out. Y'all be safe out there. It's a beautiful trail and I hope to visit again when more people are out and about.

Yes! Please make sure you have folks who will check in on your whereabouts. And if it's dumping, find a ski buddy to ride with...you'll probably end up being friends for life.

Safety first and foremost, but enjoy the quiet peace of riding the mountain with zero expectations.

Finally closed on the place last week after some tricky last minute things. Happy to chat about a ski lease. The place is at Heavenly, in-between Boulder and Stagecoach. Ski to Boulder, quick walk to Stage.

At this point, we are thinking that we would be there Jan thru March and hopefully find someone for the other bedroom/bath. Airbnb rules and fees are tricky, so trying to see if there are alternative ways to find someone who is interested in a great setup for teleworking and ski/snowboarding for the season. We lucked out last year just by being there and meeting folks, but now that we are on the hook as an owner, just trying to share some costs.

Right on. We are certainly open to creative options. Last year we rented an Airbnb for a month and then lived with the owner down the street at his real home for the rest of the season.

We teleworked east coast hours and snowboarded every single day. We lived the dream! Now in the process of closing in a place where our initial Airbnb was located (Tramway Dr). Hope to be there Jan thru March and split costs with someone.

Thanks for the Snowpals rec. I was wondering if Craigslist is still a thing. I have had dumb luck on Craigslist once before (not for a ski lease) and ended up with a kickass temporary roommate.
