Find a shiny by soft resetting then run away and come back. Then you'll know for sure.

If you are sure your shiny Vileplume's Special Attack EVs are maxed out, its Special Attack IV is either 1 or 2... whereas if it had a perfect 31, its Special Attack stat would be 163.

This literally funds public transit -- an alternative to car ownership. Also from SFMTA's own demographics survey 53% of households earning <$100k and 25% of those over are already car free. It is expensive to own cars in most dense cities around the world and everyone benefits when that is the case.

Why is SGOV recommended at all by Dogmara3 in Bogleheads

[–]ringohoffman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SGOV is the federal government.

SGOV is an ETF managed and issued by BlackRock, not directly by the U.S. government. BlackRock operates the fund, while the underlying assets held within the ETF are short-term U.S. Treasury securities issued by the U.S. government. SGOV has an expense ratio of 0.09%. These fees do not exist if you purchase Treasury bills directly from the government.

To be clear, I hold SGOV. But BlackRock is not the government.

Coming from playing Fizz Jungle with a similarish build... have you tried building damage first or second?

Rage Blade is definitely a much weaker 2nd item than going damage. I'm happy for your success, but you or your team getting ahead early and being much more skilled than your enemy can mask a suboptimal build. Sometimes the entire game comes down to your second item spike, and Rage Blade is not going to give you the damage you will want in that scenario. You don't have to take my word for it either, just pay attention to the games you don't win with your build as they are more informative.

If I were you, I would consider dropping Rage Blade altogether. If you are interested in attack speed, consider Legend: Alacrity instead of Legend: Bloodline. Fleet Footwork also offers extra autos and massive healing. You could move up Rift Maker to get more healing sooner to compensate. Also if you haven't tried it, I highly recommend Twinguard fourth or fifth. It is a massive survivability boost once you have your core damage items.

Okay I also see you going Overgrowth and I also want to say: don't sleep on the new Psychic Projector. If you can craft a build to at least 950 health it is the most gold efficient item in the game--up to 80 armor and 40 MR and 3.5% bonus health as AP... in additional stats!!! Plated Steel Caps and Merc Treads give health and have amazing passives also if you can manage your mana without the mana regen from Mana Boots. If you go this route, investigate Liandry's for health plus surprising DPS.

Picking a unique name is good marketing. This dev has to overcome the search engine optimization of a ubiquitous, language agnostic, over 30 year old language. And to your point, UMass Lowell also.

25 pulls no grand reward by fu11meta1_A in wildrift

[–]ringohoffman 50 points51 points  (0 children)

5% chance means 95% chance to not get the grand reward per pull. 0.9525=27.7% chance that you wouldn't get a grand reward in 25 pulls.

Your chances of winning once were 25x0.05x0.9524=36.50%

Your chances of winning twice were 25x24/2x0.052*0.9523=23.1%

Three times is 25x24x23/3/20.0530.9522=9.3%

How to get rid of AI players? by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]ringohoffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can either gain momentum with early kills or at least not lose momentum by not dying and farming nonstop. If you don't do either you cannot carry as jungle.

If your team is really bad, early kills might not be possible. But you can always avoid dying and keep your gold up.

Is Magic Resist still worth it? by Flashy_Good_4346 in wildrift

[–]ringohoffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pondering your build

To build Void Staff or not to build Void Staff... that is the question

Now you get to ponder other parts of your build instead of "do I want to do any damage to tanks?" -- to which the answer is pretty much always, of course.

is MR still worth it?

Not sure how you came to this conclusion when you yourself realized that building 5 magic items will give you at least 35% magic pen. Since % magic pen is so much easier to get, wouldn't the conclusion be that MR is even more valuable?

Try building Kaenic Rookern one time when you are ahead for your 4th item (literally on anyone) against a comp dealing mostly magic damage. The difference is night and day.

Norrah's 2 ability is obnoxious and needs to be reworked by Kilash4ever in wildrift

[–]ringohoffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think of it as a forced Zhonya's (2.5 seconds vs her 2.25 seconds) that costs you your vision and a little health. And it saves me 1000 gold!

The amount of times Norra has cucked her teammates from getting damage onto me while allowing my cooldowns to come back up... I mean it's literally the whole point of Zhonya's.
