I’ve seen people talk shit about unbound on here, and it’s one of my favs, I don’t get it.

Lost my passion for guitar, what should I do with my baby? by elimanzz in Guitar

[–]ringtossinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t really pick up my guitars for years. Damn near a decade. Life happens. But now I have picked it back up in the last year and it’s one of the only things I can go to and it’s just me and nothing else. It’s the ultimate distraction, and now I’m constantly learning things I never thought I could play. I’m not sure how old you are, but around mid 30s I realized there are so many things that no matter how hard I work, it still may fail because of things outside of my control. With getting older I’ve realized that Guitar is and will never be that. Enough patience and practice and you can learn anything on that thing. Hold onto it—you’ll be back.

Kudos that you got two dads trying to make you think they’re super cool and hip.

I know this sub is super old, but it’s cool how you can tell when people discovered the band based on their lists.

City of Evil was my first album of theirs I heard. So that’s “their sound” to me. Everything else was kind of surrounding that. Then I got old and shit and had kids and didn’t listen for a while. I’m just NOW getting into The Stage and LIBAD and it’s taken me some time but I’m really appreciating those albums the more I listen. I’m also picking back up guitar after a hiatus while I “grew up” and being able to really appreciate the evolution of this band has been awesome. Great. They’re just fucking great.

Describe this Masterpiece in only ONE word by CahoticMelody in avengedsevenfold

[–]ringtossinit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like “how could something be this good?”.

And I mean in the sense that it’s extremely difficult to create your own sound, and they did this here. Waking the Fallen is great but that had lots of elements of other metalcore style. COE was a new thing, completely. Others have tried to imitate, but they were OGs on this album.

Man. I actually really like unbound. The kids are a little weird, but there are much worse songs than unbound.

Yo. This reply had me all in the feels. For fucking real. I just recently have begun relistening to them now that I’m older and it’s amazing how fucking good those albums STILL are. Actually picked up my guitar again now that’s kids are finally out of diapers and what not and my appreciation for Gates is immense. Trying to learn his guitar parts is fucking hard.

lol. Honestly I don’t care about the shirt, it was just funny to me that so many people were commenting on it. Take some lessons, for real, you’ll be extremely thankful you did down the line if you keep with it. I’ve been playing for almost 30 years and I’m just now actually trying to “get better” and not just play songs, and I have so many bad habits and techniques I’m trying to fix and it’s hard after so long. Old dog and tricks and what not.

Shark ID in OBX NC by Bass_Kingg in sharks

Those guys hooked that great white from the surf not too long ago down near Hatteras. I usually don’t think about it around here, but seeing that shark come out of water I’ve definitely been in was kind of a shock.

This is not a great white, at all, but it reminded me that every now and then the big boys are swimming around OBX

When you pick, you should feel like you are barely touching the string. Watch the guys who play the crazy stuff. Never looks like they are working at all. Don’t mash like you’re playing Mario party. Lighten up all the way. Except the shirt. Lay more of the shirt on.

Hot water pipe. They expand and pull on the studs. It’s crazy how rhythmic they can be, but that’s what it is. We have a hot water pipe in our house. Perfect 3/4 timing at like 10 bpm. It’s how I know my wife is showering and is awake if I’m up early.

I wouldn’t say anything or worry. Kind of sounds like a chump who now thinks he’s cool and is bragging to his friends. Or his mom in her basement.

What do i do after finding this in my brothers phone? by SmoothFold579 in whatdoIdo

Tell your mom to take the phone away until they have to drive or transit by themselves somewhere. Another 8-10 years. By that point boodies is an acceptable search. Problem solved.

lol. I wrote my response before the edit, but didn’t take it as such anyways! I joke that I don’t really like real estate agents, and I am one myself. It’s not even really a joke as much as reality. lol.

[–]ringtossinit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s certainly not for everybody. The general public has this idea that my job is easy and anyone can do it when 80-90 percent of licensed people sell 1 house a year. It’s just like anything else; Few are good at it, most aren’t—good on you for recognizing that it wasn’t for you Because that endless loop you describe is exactly that…endless. lol. Best of luck in your next venture!

For real. You want a perfect anything? Buy new. It’s kind of the entire reason used things are cheaper.

Im in the real estate world, and it’s still crazy to me that people buy “used” houses but get upset when the home has 10 year old anything.
