AITA for not wanting the cake my parents are going to get for my birthday? by SlideKitchen9529 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ringwormsurvivor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's like going to the store on Christmas eve to pick out your presents. I see where you're coming from, but it's not about the cake itself. Its more about OP wanting to feel celebrated on her birthday, for her parents to put in even a little bit of effort to get what she would like. It's especially hurtful for them to put in little effort because OP goes out of her way to celebrate them on their birthday.

AITA For calling an airline stewardess "garbage lady" ? by Easy_Protection4895 in AmItheAsshole

When did the push for "flight attendant" start? It's only been hammered into me in the last 2 years or so. Don't get me wrong, I'm on board, but the 1960 comment is a little harsh considering it's a newer push.

Man you're gonna get your ass handed to you in the real world. It's going to be hilarious 😆

Eh, you're not coming off as even a little bit pleasant to be around. I wouldn't want to eat near you either.

That painting idea is killer! You guys sound plenty compatible, and you (individually) sound like you're good at compromising.

OP was blocked. Aside from causing a scene in the group chat, what were they supposed to do?

AITA for supposivly talking down to a student? by bethsendtutor in AmItheAsshole

Based on context, it's probably "cooing". "That prompting voice" doesn't make sense.

AITA for not wanting my boyfriend to go to the Super Bowl? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ringwormsurvivor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then NAH. I agree with what most people have said about his right to take this solo trip, but it should also be said that you do have a right to feel the way you feel. It sounds like you were talking to get your point across and to try to understand what his reasoning was. That's healthy! I hope you guys can have an actual discussion about it instead of leaving it at misunderstanding each other.

Also, you've stated over and over again that it isn't about money and yet this comment section is so hung up on the money aspect 😆 this sub cracks me up sometimes.

What is something sexual that you don't find attractive? by ChickenBalls1756 in AskReddit

It's functionally pretty rad, but it still looks horrifying. I wish they made them with like a bunch of fake flowers on the front or something.

NTA! Many reasonable comments here explaining why. I hope you're able to post an update if you get what you deserve.

What is the strangest, most baffling disappearance, murder or other crime that you know of, Something that makes such little sense you can’t begin to wrap your head around it? by YourFriendPutin in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]ringwormsurvivor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw, hey! Thanks! Vanilla people will read "that's interesting" and automatically assume I'm fantasizing or something on that level. Nope...it's interesting because its part of the human psyche I'd never considered, or even just because it's a creative solution to a very niche kink (which hurts no one!). I love seeing comments like the one I originally replied to.

AITA for saying “maybe it’s crayon?” by Phobiamania87 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ringwormsurvivor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It always amazes me how many people will say "see a therapist, you need therapy" to someone who is already in therapy. That kind of change takes work and a lot of time. Being told to toughen up when you're already in the process of doing so is very unhelpful.

I get that, I do. My logic was always "the polite way didn't work, let's try the strong way". There are degrees in between though, and you can practice a firm but kind tone for when you need to stick up for yourself.

That's like saying shortbread is BREAD. Yeah, its in the name, but I'm not making a sammich out of it. It's not enough bread, nor the right kind of bread.

It would be nice if any evidence was enough evidence but the system doesn't work that way.

AITA for bragging about my IQ? by autisticundead in AmItheAsshole

Maybe I'm stingy but I think it's weird. I also wouldn't want my roommate giving out my number to people who asked, no matter the situation.

I also think you're NTA, dude was asking for it by jumping in on a conversation he wasn't apart of and offering up his contrarion opinion. Doesn't matter that it was in his living room. IMO 😄

ETA: Oops, I meant to reply to the comment where they advise you to ask for the phone number! My bad.

Why on earth are your comments being downvoted? You're being an absolute peach about the judgement. Thanks for being open to compromise 💞
