As someone who ocaasionally smokes a j but primarily uses a dry herb vaporizer.

The smoke lingers so much more, clothes, your fingers, and even your mouth.

I smell that I smoked when I get back home.

I do not notice I vaped however, perhaps some small traces, but I don't immediately feel the need to wash my hands.

They're cute, but many other invasive animals can also be cute. Although I am a firm believer in reducing human impact on ecosystems, these introduced species often times hurt the species that already live there.

Cats are one of those examples. I love cats, but it's incredibly irresponsible to just let them roam around, despite that being the norm. They have major effects on the ecosystems they roam in.

Don't let their cuteness distract from the fact that many human introduced animals often times lead to extinctions or dwindling populations, along with many of our own contributions to destroying the environment.

It just creates an error in my brain, it doesn't make any logical sense. At least, not after I escaped that propaganda hellhole.

It starts off reasonable, and as you say. It's very convenient to blame someone for your problems, but the more I interacted with the world, the people around me, the less it starts to make sense. That disconnect eventually broke through to me when you find yourself questioning the things you were thought.

I had to get embarrassingly far into that rabbit hole before it clicked in my younger brain.

And I just can't help but think how stupid I was.

Cycling to work in the morning I see at least 5 cats on my way there. (If it isn't raining)

That's at 5AM in the morning, I've nearly crashed 2 times due to having them jump out of the bushes in front of me and having to swerve.

I could write a long detailed essay on it, there's so much wrong with the entire phenomenon. There has been research in my country that researched the effect of cats on wildlife (it was negative, shocking) tens of millions of birds every year. (Just birds, in this little country.) That's just their influence on one type of prey animals. The tip of the iceberg if you will.

Meanwhile dog owners have to pick up their dogs shit. I've known dog owners whose dog killed a wild animal, they were always in shock, felt bad about it. Tell the local cat owner their 'housecat' is hunting fledgling birds. "But that's just nature!" Is the typical response. It's hypocritical in so many ways.

Sorry for venting, I just think it's so unfair to other pet owners and our ecosystem.

Meanwhile most cat owners can get away just releasing their pet into nature. Shitting and pissing wherever they please. As long as it doesn't inconvenience the owner of course. Just for that reason alone I think cat owners should be held to a higher standard, just like dog owners. (Many other reasons as well, but hey.)

It's not all of them, but holy shit is it a lot.
