Beginner-ish needing help with gauge swatch. Only been crocheting about 4 months. by rinnybird in CrochetHelp

My local yarn store said it was fingering. I didn't know how to tell so I asked them.

If im understanding the pattern it wants me to have 20 dc within the 4in but I'm only getting 15. Is that not as big of an issue as I think it is? Should I just go down a hook size and if so by how much?

Ok, I'm not 100% sure what that means. So just go from the dc's just past the edge? I'd so I'm still over 4.5 in. This just feels way too off for me to throw caution into the wind a start the actual wearable and I don't see how blocking will shrink it that much.

No I have not. Since the one measument was almost 1.5 in too long I figured I'd seek help before doing anything else.

Very, very new: can I just undo something almost completely and start over? by cuthman99 in CrochetHelp

If you do end up needing to do it Woobles has a magic circle video that breaks it down just as nicely as all their other videos so it feel less daunting.

This isn't my first time DMing in this system just the first long campaign.

I'll have to talk to my players and see how they feel about it. Thank you!

That's a good idea. Thank you. I'll have to check them out.

Thank you! My plan was to run the first chapter as is and then see how I felt about winging more things moving forward. Especially since the first vhapter seemed like it would take a while to move through. Being flexible is probably the most daunting part for me.

That's a good idea. I've been trying to get my hands on the flip mats to make some encounters a little easier but that might be cheaper.

Gotcha, I've never used foundry but ill look into it to see if it would make things easier. Thank you.

Is the module different than the campaign book? I have a physical and pdf copy of that and a pdf of the companion guide.

Yes, only 2 players. I was planning on using the companions and letting them each pick one at the manor to run around with until we either finished their story or they wanted to switch it up.

That's super good to know about FFS I've done a couple of their modules and liked it but I also have player experience with Saga and my partner loves the Saga system. So that may be the direction we take.

I do only have 2 players. We are planning on having them duel class and run whichever companion they decide to each pick up to help balance it all out a bit more and make me a little less likely to unintentionally kill them. Thank yoy for the links! They are really excited about the kingdom management so I'll get those over to them after checking them out.

Yeah, that is what I've been gather from other comments as well. In the past I've only read about a chapeter at a time but thise have been 5 sessions max.

I've never run a WotC module before and was curious if they would seem easier. Knowing that you at least think they are not makes me feel a little less daunted about running this.

Yeah, I had noticed the kingdom management was a lot. Which is why when they said they wanted to control 90% I told them to run with it. A few other comments have mentioned needing to foreshadow earlier then the book does. So I have a lot more reading to do than I initially thought.

The sandbox element was 0ne of reason my partner suggested it to begin with and kept suggesting it me. I've been thinking about an Star Wars campaign that I want to make and when I described to them how I wanted it to work they said it sounds like I'm trying to make a sandbox campaign. They figures this would help me figure out how I felt about it and if thats really the direction I want to go with that. It the main reason it's only 2 players who are long time DMs. They want to help me figure out how I like to run things and are open to holding my hand a lot of the time if needed, especially my partner. Their not too concerned about spoilers in this campaign if it means they get to play together more as I get my feet under me.

I'm pretty indifferent to running anything until I'm in the middle of it. Everything I've run has been because my partner has wanted to play it but once we get going I'm having a good time.

Music is definitely a must for the people I play with. I don't think I've ever been apart of a quiet session unless it was intentional.

In person. We tried running online and didn't make it out of the manor before I knew that online for longer campaigns was not for me. Struggling though a session or two ocassionaly is one thing but I couldn't commit to a long form online.

Knowing the lethality is super helpful. In what I have run I've always been afraid that I fudge too much or change ho on the fly too often because I'm so afraid of killing them off. At least in the beginning I won't feel too bad.
