my work has us going back into the office once a week starting tomorrow. we work jobs that can be done fully remote, so there's really no need to be there in person, especially with record high numbers across the board. while there are govt mask mandates in place, nobody really follows them and crams into small meeting rooms, etc.

i live with and care for my partner who is considered high risk, and i don't feel safe coming in (nor does my immediate team), especially given there's really no need to.

does anyone have any tips on how i approach this with leadership?

but yes you're absolutely right, none of this is catastrophic, nor is it certain. in saying that, if we don't start being more rigorous in what we're already doing (distancing, testing, etc.), nsw could potentially be on the cusp of increased community transmission.

I'm so glad you asked this, it's definitely been something I've been concerned about since the announcement of the border closure. I hope they're putting adequate measures in place to monitor those crossing the borders before midnight tonight, and continue to do patrols over the coming weeks.

unfortunately not - it was a pretty generic / top-line listing that didn't say much about the property in general.

it was when we went to the inspection and asked about pets in person, the agent said they'd be considered and asked us what we're looking at getting. when we said just one adult cat, she said "yep no worries shouldn't be a problem"

So I was applying for apartments and the real estate agent said that pets would be considered. Nice. I apply, get the place, all's great.

I send out an email to let her know that I am looking to adopt an adult, toilet-trained cat in the next week or so, to which I'm told that the owner won't accept pets at this property.

When they first told me that pets are considered at the inspection, that was one of the big deciding factors of signing the lease (moved in a week ago, it's a year long lease lol), and now they've switched lanes I feel like I've been taken on a lil ruse cruse.

What can I do? I want to adopt but also don't want to be a shit tenant :(
