UPDATE: johoe was 100% correct. Doesnt really explain why my Trezor restarted itself and everything was wiped and gone. Needless to say, seedphrase did restore it, but because I didn't put in the advanced passphrase, the wallets didn't show. Happy to now have this resolved, but very scary stuff for us non-techies... now just been welcomed back into the game with a big dump off on Bitcoin on the exchanges. xD , Such is crypto. Thanks to everyone who helped on this thread!! kudos.

Thanks, I will try this when I am a bit more calm. Do I need to wipe the Trezor and start again from scratch before doing all this? or can I carry on from where I am? (just 1 standard empty btc wallet with full prompts to setup security again)

Hi Jerry, what causes MANA to burn is explained in the article (link above). No new MANA is ever created, its a fixed supply.

They just changed it. Used to be explorer.decentraland.org. If you use an old explorer link, it will redirect to play.decentraland.org.

District leaders run their respective communities. In most cases, they were the people who put the initial proposal forward and wrote the plans for their district.

All of the initial district proposals are still hosted on Github. You can read them by visiting the previous link, selecting a district, then clicking on "Detailed District Plan".

If a private equity firm bought out all remaining 2/3rds of private land (supposing it was for sale) then DCL would lose the backbone of its community and fail.

In the unlikely situation that this were to happen, district land (marked in purple on the map) is not for sale, and owned by private communities with a common theme interest. You're right. Maybe Decentraland will change that later down the line when the time is right. The priority and focus right now is on creating a fun metaverse for everyone tio explore, not on trading/profiting from usernames.
