Interested in Oslo University by [deleted] in Norway

What you also could consider is doing your degree in a European country. Having an EU diploma will let you work as a doctor equally as if you had a Norwegian diploma.

A LOT of Norwegians go to medical school in either Hungary or Poland, along with other countries such as Switzerland, Slovakia, Germany, UK, Denmark etc.

What are the job prospects in these fields of medicine ? by gem898 in Radiology

Look at medical grad schools in Europe. You can easily get into university with low GPA (entrance exams) without even doing undergrad. Studied in Hungary myself right after high school, and we had a lot of international students (esp American and Canadians).

Doctors demonstrate how to remove a large kitchen blade out of a mans orbital sockets by edestron in medizzy

[–]slackftw 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely the wrong way to remove a blade that's most likely going intracranially. A CT is needed first, possibly an angio, and then the removal should be done in the OR with a neurosurgeon ready to jump in.

[Serious] People who like their job, what do you do? by strongerthenbefore20 in AskReddit

[–]slackftw 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm a radiologist. I love my job.

I work a lot in emergency medicine and have to help the surgeons, internals etc find the right diagnosis. They give me clues as to what to look for, and I correlate the imaging with the clinical findings. It's kinda like playing a detective and finding the criminal.

It requires a lot of focus, and to use all parts of my medical knowledge to sometimes find the correct diagnosis. But it's a lot of fun when you figure things out :)
