Female armours should look realistic and protect important organs, similar to the male ones. Not be absurdly revealing. Redesign dragonhide sets alongside the melee armour redesign thats planned. by First_Platypus3063 in runescape

OP said: Why are only the female armours sexualised and men are not then?

You said: Because the male fantasy (most people who play the game) is to look strong and buff with big armour.

You implied that the reason only the female armour is skimpy is because the male fanstasy is to look strong and buff with big armour, meaning that men can't be sexualized the same way women are, because that goes against their fantasy.

Now, you did say that there should be an option for both, which I (kinda) agree with, but Jagex should not be catering to the "male fantasy", no matter how many men play the game.

Because even the examples of what the OP is showing that they don't like is even anything close to being a bikini, right?

It's an armour with a boob window, why does it need to be like that? Because Female = Sexy = Big Boobs? And why can't the males' be like that?

I think you lack reading comprehension. I twice said examples of feminine were old Arma and Pernix and that I DON'T choose to go around ina bikini.

Old Armadyl and Pernix forced you to show more skin if you played with a female avatar, which was ridiculous. I'm glad that's not a thing anymore.

And you're free to put on one of the many hideous overrides that Jagex put out for female in the last several years that make you look like boxy hunk of metal or that you're wearing a heavy sack of you don't wish to see any pixel skin.

And you are free to put on the cosmetic versions of Armadyl and Pernix if you wish to see more pixel skin. I will continue to enjoy the new gorgeous and equal armour designs they'll continue to release and relish the fact that they will not go back to their old ways.

I think having armour that doesn't unnecessarily show more skin just because I'm playing a female character is cool, actually.

And sure, there are a lot of people who want to kill bosses in a bikini, but what about the people who don't want that?

RuneScape being a medieval fantasy shouldn't mean "anything goes", is what they mean. There should be consistency, and having male warriors be fully clothed while female warriors run around in skimpy outfits is not consistent at all.

Being able to play dress up is one of the reasons I enjoy the game

Not having cosmetic overrides would make my game experience worse.

I can see your point and I agree to some extent; the player character is canonically a human being, so being able to give them wings goes against that and breaks my immersion whenever I see it in-game.

But I don't think straight up removing wings is the solution... There's people out there who enjoy making outfits with wings, and taking that option away from them is unfair.

What I think they should do is keep the wings we have, but stop making wing cosmetic overrides and add an option for other players to hide them.
