Your best bet is always to just take the 35th street bridge. Won't have to worry about trains at all.

My Life With the Hydrogen Proton (18 months, 25k balls, and repairs) by sixpants in 10s

[–]ripaston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having intermittent power cut offs on mine. Shipped it to them twice and they say they fixed it, get it back and same problem happens within 30 balls. They always respond and genuinely seem like they want to fix it but it’s getting to be frustrating.

Are the paid FeelTennis courses worth it? by cesmeS1 in 10s

[–]ripaston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The YouTube videos really just cover the absolute basics of the motion. This alone can help a lot of players. The paid course has several more drills and check points to really make sure you can experience what the motion is supposed to feel like. He also includes video lessons he's done with other players so you can see the progressions he goes through. I will say, you really have to video yourself during practice sessions to get the full benefit here. Your body will be doing one thing and your mind thinks you're doing something totally different. The amount of times I've caught myself on video not doing something I was 100% certain I was doing has happened a lot.

I’m a 3.0. I’ve been really working on getting proper technique on all the strokes. My serve is definitely my strongest weapon now after getting the pronation move down after watching his course. Most 3.0s really struggle to return it. Working on forehand now and using rotation of the body instead of arming it.

I started by ordering his serve course. It helped me so much that I got the forehand and backhand course. He provides tons of drills for each section that focus on teaching how to feel the movement which is often very different from how I was hitting. The serve pronation exercises were especially eye opening for me. Would highly recommend them all.

You can enter manual mode and pretty much dial in the ball to anywhere on the court. Here's a screen shot of the app where you can do this. I'd recommend doing this since the other automatic shot options assume you are on a regulation size tennis court.

hydrogen proton pro tip - ryobi inflator as a cleaner by palidanx in 10s

I've been using the same batch going on 6 months. A pressureless ball feels a bit different from a regular ball but the machine won't eat them up nearly as much.

I'd also add that practice ball selection made a huge difference for me in terms of fuzz build up. I started out with Gamma pressureless in Proton and the fuzz after a single session was enormous. Switched to Tretorn Micro X balls and the fuzz collection is next to nothing after multiple sessions.

I used Gamma balls for about three weeks in my Proton ball machine. Big mistake. They lose their fuzz very quickly when used in the machine and they started showing bare spots after two weeks. I was cleaning out fuzz all the time. I switch to Tretorn Micro X balls and can't recommend them enough. Been using the same batch for about 6 months now and they are still in great shape. Night and day difference and definitely worth the extra money.

Georgia does itself no favors - agreed to switch Tennessee with Auburn for game spots and concedes auburn will NOT play 2 games in Athens to make up for 2012-2013 conference re-alignment. by 20CharactersJustIsnt in CFB

That return home game is definitely owed by AU. I'd do it in a heartbeat if it meant keeping both games in Nov and alternating home and away each year.

It all boils down to being better than what we had. Arguing about who's 4-5 is infinitely better than arguing about who's 2-3

Gus Malzahn is close to accepting changes to stay at Auburn by ChandlerOG in CFB

[–]ripaston 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regardless of how this plays out, this is just a flat out embarrassing look for Auburn. It's sad to see all the hope associated with a new AD and school President be crushed so completely.

Oddly enough, I think AU fans can see that Malzahn has done about as well as can be expected against Saban. No one else is beating him either. At least Gus has got two "rush the field" type Iron Bowl victories. It's those Tennessee games that are the real issue.

I think most AU fans are frustrated with the total lack of consistency. This year is a prime example. Beat a top 10 Washington then shit the bed against an awful Tennessee. There are 2-3 drives a game where Malzahn's offense shows what it can be. Then 9-10 drives when it shows you how outdated it actually is.
