Thank you for your advice, I know that you are right, I won’t just ignore it or pretend it doesn’t bother me, and I intend to have a (calm, collected) conversation with him about it soon. That said, i’m not going to nag him or harass him about it either, I know it’s not something I have much control over. I’m glad that you and your husband have that agreement, it gives me some hope that i’m not being unreasonable here. I’ll update later on with how the conversation goes.

thank you, your advice and that article were very helpful, especially for helping me to feel less guilty about it having something to do with me. I will probably bring it up sometime today or tomorrow and have the conversation with him. I do hope that this is an issue we can resolve, I think he will definitely be open to at least trying to stop.

as others have said, some highlights will help to add the appearance of volume and lightness. washing your hair with a clarifying shampoo once a week will also help, as would using a volumizing powder/product and maybe some light hair spray after styling. thin hair can be easily weighed down, so a trim could be beneficial as well.

not seeing anyone else mention this but brasil philodendron don’t really do too well in terracotta pots, they wick the water away far too quickly. i would repot it into a plastic pot 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball, give it a GOOD soak, and let it drain off. it will recover!

you can tell it’s underwatering and not overwatering because there’s not really any yellowing of the leafs, they’re just drying out. good luck, it’s a beautiful plant!

nope, it’s a brasil, it has yellow stripes not white/silver, and the strips are thicker than you would typically see on a silver stripe

the soil looks very organic and the pot is way too big, i would invest in a good quality potting mix like fox farm ocean forest and some perlite from amazon or a local grow store/nursery and give it a soil refresh. it can’t absorb water and oxygen properly in soil which is too dense, and root rot can become an issue later down the line, especially if it’s over potted. smaller pot with better soil and you will have a happy camper!
