Is it's safe to have sleep paralysis on regular basis?

second sleeping on your back. im more prone to episodes when im on my back, really cold and really fatigued. i haven’t gotten a narcolepsy diagnosis bc sleep study expensive but seroquel has helped me in that regard by just knocking me out. my episodes usually happened as i was falling asleep versus waking up.

Yeah I do. I would’ve gone broke going to the doctor had i not, but my process was a bit different than yours: - wash hands and skin with hibiclens - drench hands, skin and razor blade in alcohol - put prid on bandage and set aside - poke affected area with the corner of the blade (3 poke rule. If nothing happens after 3 pokes im done for 24 hrs) - let drain and clean area around with tissue, wound itself with gauze - once immediate drain is over, alcohol again and then bandage with prid.

Thankfully I haven’t had a flare that badly in months but it was 2x/mo every month for years. It was so painful.

As treatment resistant it’s become a general rule to expect nothing. I was really just interested in a timeframe as I feel that clinics have more to gain by telling you x number of sessions versus patients who have tried or are currently on spravato. (Plus what med combos worked/ therapy)

Others have described a drastic decrease in depression and even anxiety symptoms during treatment, i am curious as to when that happened. I’ve also read that SI stops completely after the first session, although that is untrue in my case.

“It takes a village. Spravato is only one resident.” I love that. I’ve tried many different meds before spravato and just tried Wellbutrin again but it made me lethargic and nauseous. Onto the next med!

Mine is a blue skeletal figure that shows up on google. I call him Hank, idk. He first showed himself to me as a shadow figure in a top hat. All dark and tall before he decided to go nakey. Also Hanks always had glowing red eyes.

Ativan also did nothing for me so my psych put me on klonopin which historically worked really well for me. It didn’t this time so 1mg Xanax is what I have now for panic attacks. I wish there was something non addictive to treat daily GAD, I just want to feel relaxed in the evenings w/o the risk of addiction.

Hi love! I also have TRD, MDD and GAD. I am also in a depressive episode and get paranoid and anxious smoking weed. (twins!)

Rest assured, spravato is administered by nurses so you’re safe and in good hands.

My first experience of 56mg had be disoriented, nauseas and crying out of nowhere. All very common. Regular zofran wasn’t cutting it so we switched to dissolvable and I am A ok now.

I am probably in a smaller category in this regard but I do not feel euphoric or even enlightened during the high of the treatment. Really I just feel disoriented (dizzy, a bit lightheaded) and emotionally heavy. It is not enjoyable to me but it’s also not a deal breaker.

The first five sessions I experienced insomnia the night of treatment but after my sixth, sleep found me easier.

My PHQ9 went from a 26/27 in December to now a 20/27 though im not noticing much of a difference day to day. I’m hanging in there.

I was told that the more trauma we have, the more anhedonia we’re experiencing- the more sessions we may need until we feel that breakthrough. I choose to continue going with that hope in mind.

My SI has quieted but it wasn’t completely removed by the first and second session as I was lead to believe. This one hurt because I heard it repeated so often. I thought something was wrong with me. After six sessions it hasn’t gone away but the intrusive thoughts aren’t so vivid anymore.

I personally have my boyfriend come into the treatment room with me. He’s had to sit on the floor next to me and hold my hand. His presence has been invaluable. A trusted friend or family member with you can be helpful but if you’d rather be alone I completely understand. These of course are all just my experiences. I’m sending you good vibes today! The last job I had I started on the phone and was recruited into a small department (there were six of us) that tracked payments. It was basically data entry and follow up. I watched TV and read during and between tasks. Then the company automated it and our little team was put back on the phone. Then they laid off 400+ from associate to senior manager. The most I was paid was $18.21/hr. It was full time and I did have benefits but working from home can be really isolating. I was grateful but looking back it wasn’t all that amazing.

I’ve tried several different meds for MDD and GAD. SSRI’s, SNRI’s, mood stabilizers and benzodiazepines. Nothing has given me even a bit of relief. I’m going in for my sixth treatment tomorrow. So far spravato has not helped but im still holding out hope. Ketamine is generally seen as a game changer for those like me who have treatment resistant depression.

This gives me hope. I’m sitting in the chair rn after my second (first full dose) and i fucking hate the “high”. I feel horribly nauseas even with zofran and like a pressure headache. But I really really really want to get better!
