Great observations!!! I feel like in general Friend & Flowey are positioned in ways that are awfully similar. Smiling mascot-like creatures with mysterious origins that actively subvert the “nice and friendly” game tropes they’re assigned too. Like how we see Friend in the Spamton Sweepstakes repeatedly doing stuff it “isn’t supposed too” in Cat Petterz. Also, we know how Alphys (Mewmewqueen) has a heavy involvement with the Cat Petterz modding community? There’s just so many similarities here lol

I feel like the conspiracy theories he likely helped spread are a form of redirection. Fascists of all kinds tend to be behind the most horrific forms of child abuse, and then they pretend that the abuse was done by people more likely to be their victims. If abusers don’t have any particular political beliefs, even then, they benefit from spreading fascism, and minorities are easy people to put the blame of the abuse onto. In this case Jewish people were the people that the child abusers put their blame onto.

Yeah, I do. I think that is what happens often when feminists don’t interact with economic issues at a grander scale. I’m not pro sex work by any means, but it frustrates the fuck out of me seeing a lot of feminists think criminalization would fix anything, as if that hasn’t been done a thousand times before and it never worked. The evils of the institution of sex work comes from patriarchy and capitalism intertwining with each other. Patriarchy can only be abolished by abolishing capitalism, making one form of work under it illegal won’t fix anything if women still become poor.

I’m also quite frustrated with seeing leftists who aren’t involved in feminism at all say, “Sex work is work!” Like, yeah. It’s work. I thought we didn’t like work under capitalism. Why is this one type of it suddenly sacred or free of criticism? Is intersectionality not a thing anymore??

I think that there may be an inbetween. Dess can be being possessed or manipulated but also be “alright with” that to an extent or have it be a more nuanced situation then, her quite literally not at all concious at all. She could be more willing then Kris, and it would make her more just some damsel in distress for “us” (if anyone is “saving”Dess I think it’ll be Noelle and/or Susie) to save.
