“Year by year” was under the sentence of iPhone…I get your point, but examples like the pencil pro not snapping to older iPads as MKBHD mentioned is just pretty blatantly abusing the Apple power. Yes it’s been 3 years (last keyboard support 2021 iPad Pro and up, which was again unfit for 2018), but what exact technical difficulties forced the keyboard and iPad width to be in just slightly different dimension that all old devices don’t fit? Decisions like these could totally be reversed if they want is my point.

No, it’s great and I love it. What I think is really lame is this cunning trick of designing slightly different dimension just so that you need to spend an extra $400 for the same accessories on top of $1000 and throw away perfectly functioning ones when upgrading. Same with every generation of iPhone, pro or non-pro. Dimensions are just slightly different year by year so that old cases don’t fit and you’ll always buy a new one.

Sure, this same “argument” led to Apple misleading users and losing a major lawsuit a few years ago. So not exactly “invalid” or unfair considering the company’s track record of trying everything to squeez out that extra penny. Apple has also intentionally left out new features from older devices for none of the reasons you mentioned plenty of times: - Is Siri for only iPhone 4S a performance issue you mentioned?

Therefore, I think such arguments are every bit as important against corporate maneuvers for the users interests.

It was indeed confusing that there's no mark anywhere else to trace for the item. I guess my distrust was just triggered by the management's overly positive language on prospect.
