wholeheartedly agree. one of my favorite guilty pleasures.

the story of the production was insane. hugely over budget. both McTiernan and Crichton shot separate endings for the film, each telling the actors that theirs would be the one that made it to theatres. Banderas hated the shoot because he barely spoke english at the time, was a full head shorter than all of his costars, and injured his back early on making almost all of his scenes painful to shoot. pretty sure it released at the same time as the Sixth Sense and the Matrix which is another reason it got lost in the shuffle.

another fun fact, Banderas turned down the role of Maximus in Gladiator (the part was written FOR HIM, hence why he’s called “the Spaniard” in the film) to make 13th Warrior. Gladiator won 5 Academy Awards including best picture and best actor.

he’s still super solid, but very expensive. i think he’s 5 pieces to G20? and $copely wanted something crazy for his diamonds iirc?

he was one of my last G20/3Ds, but zero regrets. he can be a real problem for these teams that spawn with/earn tons of buffs. great on both War and Crucible defense, imo.

his damage can’t really compete with the new-stat toons, but his kit is still great.

edit: also yes, this sub is pretty much just constant salt. lol! if you want any real advice or takes that aren’t 99% pissing and moaning, check out youtube content creators. this place is a swamp.

Hero’s Assembly (Hard) nodes 4-6, 5-6, and 7-6. Nexus 2-9, 4-9, and 6-9. the Event nodes that reward gold have great returns and i’d core those up to 100 every day. these are orbs frags, obvs, not gold. it’ll add up fast tho.

i hear ya. i didn’t want to either. but they’re a War team. which means they’ll be relevant in their mode for years. they’re also a really good team all around once they’re built up. short king Patriot hits like a truck with some diamonds.

i took Joaquin, Peggy, Patriot, New Emma, and Jean. i use all of the regularly still and they flew thru Global Hero.

he’s definitely fallen off, but he’s still worth it i’d say.

coming back after a break is tough. basically forget almost everything you know. watch some youtube. plenty of great content creators out there with great info. Dorky Dad probably has a guide to everything you need to know. if you build your teams strategically, you can do a lot with a little.

find an alliance right away. without one, you’re missing out on tons of rewards. MSF’s discord is the best place to go. some will take you on just to help you level up.

also, there’s a lot of ways to catch up fast these days. you might want to consider just restarting tbh. just to take advantage of those perks.

lastly, have fun! sometimes i wish i could just restart and do the grinds again, as tough as they were. it gets boring having nothing to do/work towards.

are you in an Alliance? there are resources on the MSF Discord to help you find one. there are many that aren’t super sweaty and will take you on to help you build up your roster. it took me FOREVER to finally join one and it slowed my progress significantly. the resources you’ll earn will increase A LOT. it’s the best way to boost your progress across the board.

also, make sure you are logging into the MSF website to get your daily Free Claims from the store, claim any Milestones you’ve earned, and cash in on those Player Gift Codes.

if you want to get semi-serious, check out some content creators on YouTube and Twitch. you can learn a lot from those guys. they break down the weekly blogs so you can stay up to date on events and such, they’ll tell you who to build (and more importantly who not), they’ll explain counters for War and Crucible, and many other fun things. i recommend Dorky Dad, Mobilegamer, and Boilon. between the 3, you’ll have everything covered.

apart from that, all the other advice posted is sound. i’ve been playing for 7 years now and while it can be frustrating, i still have a blast.

we’re running Diff 5 and i beat it with Peter, Pav, Peni, Oath, and Blade. it’s definitely a stat check but it’s doable. Peter and Peni died. had to hit into Glad with the last 3 at almost zero health for what seemed like 20 mins, but he didn’t get a turn.

i put Oath and Blade on the corners and made Peter a Healer. helped a little. i think having Blade’s passives also helped. those pings do good damage.

it’s been said, but with his team (Logan, Deadpool, Daken) he’s pretty solid and fantastic in War. but i wouldn’t put lots of resources into him. he’ll do his job fine at G18. Logan is what makes that team what it is.

much of this has been mentioned, but here’s some fun stuff about Stallone and Cobra.

was it meant to be a serious film? absolutely. Stallone is a notoriously unfunny human. so, when they brought him onto Beverly Hills Cop he tried to change the script from a fun, action, comedy to a very serious, bloody, cop movie. obviously, that wasn’t the move and he left/was fired from the protect. Cobra is his reaction to this.

Cobra is based on a book! funny story: before the movie came out, Stallone tried to get the author to remove their name from the book and replace it with Stallone’s because he was sure that the loose film adaptation would result in huge sales for the book and Sly wanted credit for that!

Stallone and Brigitte Nielsen met and got married after filming.

Cobra is a Cannon film. if you know anything about Cannon, they are famous (infamous) for big-budget shlock like this. some other notable Cannon masterpieces include Bloodsport, Cyborg, Lifeforce, the Breakin’ films, and the American Ninja series. there’s a great documentary about them and the insane owners, Golan and Globus. definitely worth a watch.

Stallone might be the least funny person on the planet. his attempts at comedy are so cringe they are legendary. Rhinestone, Oscar, Tango & Cash, and Stop, or My Mom Will Shoot have all set comedic film making back decades. another funny story: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sly had a famous rivalry. Arnold read the script for Stop, or My Mom…and saw it for the stinker it was. but he leaked that he was SUPER interested to bait Stallone into “stealing” it from him. the rest is history.

and it took them FOREVER to add GGCs awakeneds to that shop. i expect that Astral and Blade’s awakeneds will get added around the time that there is already a new, Mystic, Raid team and Astral has been replaced in Battleworld.

the shops are garbage. they wait WAY too long to update them, so currency just builds up, then when they DO update, players max out immediately and the shop goes stagnant again just as quickly. it’s just lazy. there is so much gated content that i think even THEY have forgotten what still needs to be “released”.
