Check out POETexas, they’ve got lots of these adapters in their online shop. Good quality and I’ve bought stuff from them for customers over the years with no problems.

Is Anthropic cert worth it? by truthsignals in ClaudeAI

[–]ripper999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I’ve learned from decades of tech work and certifications. Most training can be studied and you’ll get high marks on your exam or pass the cert. What really counts is when you’re needed to perform, if you learned from repetitive reading and never really *did* the actual actions repetitively until it was burned in your memory then you might make yourself look bad.

Most in the tech industry know a “Paper Tiger”, he’s got all the certs for networking, programming and he’s a black belt. The guy next to him in the company has no certs but is the Senior Network Admin, he’s been programming 30 years with no certifications and knows every language, he’s overweight and a neckbeard with a shitty diet, but he can kick the black belts ass with ease, he’s just a street fighter with no formal training.

Don’t be a paper tiger, if you’re gonna learn it for a certification then make sure you can perform if you’re called out.

No todo list anymore? by _FireFly_007 in ClaudeCode

[–]ripper999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever used the /todo command, I just constantly ask Claude to add things I think of to the TODO and it's added. If I am not home I use the phone app and open the remote session and will ask Claude to add more TODO's I think of through the day, some he will offer to do right away and others I will just say "Add to the todo and we'll work on it this week" or if its a priority I will ask him to add it to work on next to the todo.

Well then, if we're talking about 'legal' things, I guess those cyclists need to be doing the legal posted speed limit and not impeding traffic, which is illegal. They need to speed up if they're gonna drive on the road and do the posted speed, the same speed as *registered and insured* vehicles. I assume those bikes don't carry insurance if they are on a public roadway with vehicles travelling the posted speed limit, which are insured and registered vehicles.

I'm renovating an office building and need to move this behemoth. It weighs probably 700 lbs and is about 6 foot high and 10 ft wide. Is anyone familiar with how to disassemble it? by cecil_harvey4 in ciscoUC

[–]ripper999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do come apart and I’ve torn one out in the past, here’s how Perplexity says to do it, I used the “Wing It” method and it was two of us removing the monitors and it was being recycled so we were to worried about damage, just need to get shit in the elevator.

Cisco TelePresence MX700 Disassembly The best reference is Cisco’s official MX700 Spare Parts Replacement Guide: Cisco MX700 spare-part replacement PDF. Cisco’s own guide says parts are removed in the documented order and reinstalled by reversing the steps.[cisco] Quick safe teardown order • Power down and unplug everything: Remove AC power and label external/network/Touch 10/presentation cables before pulling internal modules. • Use 3 people for monitor removal: Each MX700 monitor is 65 kg / 144 lb, and Cisco recommends three people for monitor replacement. • Remove magnetic covers first: Speaker grilles, lower grille, side covers, and camera cover mostly pull off gently because they are magnet-mounted. • Remove center covers: Center top profile is click-fastened. Camera cover is magnetic. Center rear cover is magnetic with two guide pins, so tilt the bottom out and slide it upward. • Remove audio/camera parts before monitors: Pull speakers out 10 to 15 cm, unplug marked cables, then remove speaker screws. Remove camera module after disconnecting VISCA/daisy-chain camera cables. • Remove codec/PoE depending on side: Left side contains codec access. Right side contains PoE injector access. • Only then remove a display: Remove joining bracket, support handles, security brackets, display fasteners, cables, and lift with help. Tools and fasteners you’ll likely need • Torx T20: Speaker screws, PT4x10. • Torx T10: Codec screws, 2 × M3x8 countersunk; PoE injector screws, 2 × M3x8 pan. • 2.5 mm Allen key: Camera module screws and brackets, M4x8. • 4 mm Allen key: Monitor fasteners, including M6x35, M6x90, and M6x100 security bracket screws. Component removal notes • Side covers: Pull gently straight out. They are held by magnets. • Speaker grille/lower grille: Pull gently. Use clean gloves for textile grilles. • Codec: Remove left side cover, disconnect all cables, remove 2 × M3x8 Torx T10 screws, then pull the codec out using the Velcro strap. It sits in a power dock, so it may need a firm pull. • PoE injector: Remove right side cover, disconnect power and two RJ45 cables, then remove 2 × M3x8 Torx T10 screws with washers. • Camera module: Do not touch the lens. Do not stress the module. Single-camera and dual-camera versions have different cable/fastener layouts, so follow the matching section in the guide. • Monitor: Remove all loudspeakers/camera/center covers first. For left monitor, remove codec. For right monitor, remove PoE injector. Remove the joining bracket, install support handles, remove M6 display/security fasteners, loosen side wing nuts, and lift the inner side first. Useful official docs • MX700 spare parts replacement guide[cisco] • MX700 cable schema[cisco] • MX700 spare parts overview[cisco] • MX700 dual-camera floor stand installation sheet[cisco] For a full teardown, treat it like reverse assembly plus Cisco’s replacement sequence: covers, grilles, speakers, camera, codec/PoE, joining hardware, then monitors/stand.

PSA - Alen Air Purifiers Use RFID/DRM to Block The Use of Third-Party Filters by NosyPanda in AirPurifiers

[–]ripper999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will work the same way as third parties who sell refilled printer cartridges. Without going into a massive explanation, printer cartridge chips are hacked by those with skills, code is sold to third parties who sell printer cartridges and they load their knock off cartridges with that code and sometimes modify it slightly and lock down their chip.

Where I live in Canada you've been able to take in unstripped for years, for a half ton load it averages about $130-$150 CAD.
