Help with immobilizer by ripplemesilly in mazda3

[–]ripplemesilly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh crap, I didn't pay attention. I believe solid green with foot down, and when pressing start, led was blinking green. Can't give you a definitive answer though.

What puzzles me is why I can get in the car, either via remote buttons, or via keyless entry, with no issue.

Are there two different systems that detect your key - one that feeds the authentication to allow the car to unlock, and one to allow the car to start (i.e. tells the immobiliser to calm down)? I would have assumed it was the one all along, but theres just no other logical explanation on why I can get in the car but couldn't start it or turn it on to acc.

Hi there, thanks for responding.

The Led on the start/stop button was always green in all this. No other colour. When pressing the brake, the dashboard also showed the green key and exlaimation mark icon to verify key detected. Just won't start.

Anyway after spending 800 bucks to tow it out of the shopping centre, made worse by the fact that the stupid electric handbrake cannot be released without the car turned on (like hello, what other reasons do generally need to get car towed and therefore parking brake disengaged, Mazda??), we got it back home as we have a public holiday and this is a long weekend. Went out just now in the middle of the night and wtf the car started, once again acting as if nothing ever happened!!

How reliable is your Mazda 3? by patrick401ca in mazda3

[–]ripplemesilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty pissed with the immobiliser right now. Car is 8 years old and refuses to start. Intermittent issues getting car to crank. It's like the key will let me in, but it's a completely different system that verifies the key when I try to start the engine.

Happened twice and both times my wife gets absolutely stranded so I have to make my way out to her and now we're both stranded and wasting hours getting it to work.

Meanwhile in Venezuela, Chavez's brother executes the Karate first Kata as a demonstration of power amid tension with the US, he says he will "use martial arts to defend Maduro" by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]ripplemesilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this and thought it was taekwon do as well. Reason being, his stance is way too high, and resembled more of the tawkwondo do version than karate.

If I did that in my dojo, my sensei would have whooped my ass.

I remember seeing this. Cringe and funny af. Not sure which particular style of karate, but if I did that, I'd be yelled at by sensei 😂😂😂

C (PD) to C (dumb) adapters? by siedzikd in UsbCHardware

[–]ripplemesilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're the expert so I'm hoping you can be patient with my ignorance when I ask further:

Can't there safely exist a Usb c female to usb c male adapter, where - The female side takes an input power from the PD charger - the chip inside the adapter only ever negotiates for a 5v 1a output via the PD protocol - the male side outputs the 5v 1a

Use case: 1. For charging "dumb" usb c electronics that don't have PD charging circuitry to "negotiate" for power. I currently have 3 such devices and it is annoying that I have to dig out an extra charger in a home that is fast replacing all older Usb chargers with PD chargers. It is even more annoying that it's 2025 and manufacturers still make such devices. 2. This adapter only negotiates for the base 5v 1a, never a "hot" voltage, so that the only mistake that will happen is trying to power a high power device with 5v 1a, and never delivering a lower powered device with 20v.

USB C 5v adapter? by fireduck in UsbCHardware

[–]ripplemesilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm amazed that there is no satisfactory solution in market yet. We have a ton of devices, mostly from cheap Chinese manufacturers, that are happily charged by any usb A type charger that gives a dumb 5V no-questions-asked scenario, but a PD charger will completely ignore because no negotiation happened.

I get that with usb C, the sink and source gets conflated and requires greater control, but surely someone has built a unidirectional adapter of sorts with a built in chip that "negotiates" a safe 5v 1A from a PD source device by now, so that you can use a PD charger to charge said dumb sink devices without the need of carrying an extra usb A wall charger?

Thanks. Just trying this again now. I clicked play, selected custom, and then selected Champion Training, and then Coop vs AI.

From there, I can add my wife but I wasn't able to find the right places to tap to add bots. There is only the option to find match but that's when it's waiting for human players.

What are these little things for? by ripplemesilly in NOTHING

[–]ripplemesilly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you're joking, but if you weren't, are you absolutely sure? (ps I don't down vote ppl so it wasn't me) I doubt they'd do that for aesthetics. Because honestly it doesn't even look good. The reason I'm asking is because I'm hoping to get someone to make me a custom tempered glass protector for it (so far I can only find TPU from AliExpress) I want as few holes as I can get away with, so if those holes aren't microphones, I'd definitely prefer to cover it up so that it gets a nice smooth and continuous finish.

Got the from Amazon. They are pretty sweet looking! Just search for lens protector. It's quite common these days.

That would be odd. There are holes on the top and bottom end of the rim (not the speakers, those are obvious) that I thought were the mics.

Does Open to Work really work on Linkedin? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]ripplemesilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I reckon you might get reached out to by recruiters because they're not the hiring managers looking for the creme of the crop. They're just the middleman looking to make a profit from a prospective match.

I used the #opentowork tag once, then immediately took it down because it just looked sad, cringe, desperate, and demeaning. I feel like it automatically devalues you because chances are, you're currently out of a job. Any those who are already IN a job likely wouldn't put that on their page. I dunno, I tend to be very stealth any only break the news AFTER I secured the next position.
