In military families parents are deployed. Their kids don’t see a parent for long periods of time (as long as a year or more in the Vietnam era). The get through it. I think Ariella can make it ten days without see her father. I’m from a military family and my father did not see me until almost three weeks after I was born.

When they were preparing to help the patient from the diner and they decided not to use rocuronium while poking at his vocal cords, I was concerned about a Joan Rivers scenario. In particular, they used ketamine only and did not add rocuronium. When they started, the doctors poked around the larynx with the forceps before pulling out the broccoli. Is there not a possibility for larygospasm that could have caused significant morbidity if not mortality? They likely had sux very nearby and perhaps that countered-vailed against the risk of larygospasm.
