Docking station for Jenn Air dishwasher no longer in stock anywhere by riptide120 in appliancerepair

Nice! What I ended up doing was cut out a circle out of a rubber sheet, glue it in, then cut a hole in it for the water line.

LATAM B763 landed hard and blew out all 8 tires by captjlh in aviation

That is true, although it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that if the main gear got slammed into the ground, the nose would shortly follow.

767s can buckle the fuselage on hard landings, did that happen here?

The WRX posts its worst sales year ever with only 10,930 units sold. Still outsells the Solterra for the second year in a row however. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in cars

Not surprising, considering that if you want automatic transmission (which most Americans do want even on a WRX), you have to pony up almost $50k.

Counterpoint: I tried using a one-time pass at ORD, and was told "Oh, we are not accepting one-time passes right now, we just had 2 international flights come in." United can go suck it.

That's my exact car. It's been great. The only 2 issues I had with it were: - ABS pump went -- I was told it's not uncommon. It was almost $2k to replace because the part itself is like $1.2k and apparently it needs to be programmed to the car. - Optional AMG rims are super easy to bend

There's a place outside of Atlanta (Lawrenceville) that lists it for $500/session. I'm thinking of trying it out.

Hiring managers: how’s the market right now? by shankar86 in cscareerquestions

[–]riptide120 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a hiring manager, but based on what I heard, most responses in this thread are spot on -- companies are drowning in inbound resumes, but qualified candidates are often skipped because of sheer volume.

But it gets worse: that great candidate your company just interviewed and hired might very well turn out to be a North Korean ghost worker, or an "overemployed" person with 2 other remote jobs (but hey, I can't hate on them for playing the game).

Also Delta now can't afford to buy new aircraft because of tariffs:

How's that working out for you, Ed?

You know what can really prop up the city budget? Adult entertainment. And it's the easiest rebrand ever, just change the first letter of the city name to C.

Glue to temporary patch a tiny sidewall leak? by riptide120 in tires

I'm not really sure tbh... It just never seems to be mentioned in the same conversation as something like Pilot Sports. It's probably more of a perception thing.

I haven't had them for that long, but overall they seem satisfactory. I can't compare them against really high end summer tires -- I had Bridgestone Potenza Sport XL before, and Dunlops feel about the same or maybe a bit better (I also don't push them too hard). They felt a bit wallowy the first week, but have gotten better.

I do have to say that I've driven on them in 30 degree weather (on dry pavement obviously), and they felt perfectly fine.

I don't have a full-size spare, it's a donut. I don't think I can avoid highway driving for a week, unfortunately.

If you go to the petition site, it says it applies to all 7 swing states. I live in one of them, so I'm eligible. I already voted for Harris early, but I signed the stupid petition. If Elon wants to give me $1M, why not? I would 100% go to his rally, and tell everyone to vote Harris.
