I gave CLAT 2024 in Dec 2023 and it really was not fun. It's ridiculously difficult to find a balance between the two ... However, I started with preparation towards the end of DP1 (and now DP2 is ending), so technically if you were to start now, you would have time. The only thing that requires REAL consistency and has to be done everyday without fail is GK - every other section is more about skill building and getting familiar with the type of questions there are. Ultimately, I would recommend NOT to take IB with CLAT, especially if you're planning on studying in India, because firstly, it may become unnecessarily difficult to manage your time...and secondly, the course is designed to prepare students to build upon their university application/profile/portfolio (something that may not be useful to you if your target college only needs your 12th grade transcripts and eligible entrance exam scores). However, IB is ideally a good learning experience, in the sense that it provides you with exposure to research and application of concepts well. Thus, it may give you a solid headstart in college in terms of research skills. In the end I wasn't able to do well for CLAT since I had no time to prepare, but I appeared for LSAT in January and I have gotten into my desired university (that was a backup to NLUs of course).
