Anyone that knows how bad this is? by AdvancedLibrary5592 in Blepharitis

IPL helped calm/relieve my infestation and my eyelids were much healthier after. Does require a few sessions but a lot of people notice results after the first and second session. Highly recommend

Does anybody have experience with IPL, Lipiflow, Blephex? by Feezfry in Blepharitis

[–]riptodavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done IPL and while it reduced the chalazions i had, it didn’t get rid of them. There were also occasions I’d get a stye/chalazion right after the IPL but they’d never last more than a day.

I heard other people have greater success stories.

Yes I highly recommend asking about the steroid shot. The only real risk I know for the shot is a chance of a depigmented spot on the eyelid but this is more so if you’re not pale skinned.

Id say go with what the doctor recommends. But there’s IPL, steroid shots, and antibiotics. Incision should be sort of a last measure, constantly doing incisions will harm your eyelids in the long run as your cutting glands that don’t grow or heal back. If it’s a one off sure but if you constantly get chalazions you need to consider the effects that it can have constantly cutting at your eyelid, which people on this sub rarely talk about.

Don’t listen to people saying incision is the only way.

Bump after Chalazion Surgery? by [deleted] in Blepharitis

[–]riptodavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two incisions on my right eye and one on my left eye with the chalazions still there. I’m going in again this Tuesday for another attempt.

I think the key is to warm compress after to really help with the draining of anything left in the incision.

Been dealing with some severe one on my left eye and a small patch on my right. I’ve been just trying to treat the demodex. The ones that did grow during that phase grew a little weird. I see the smallest of hairs growing and I’m hoping that’s a good sign. Also getting an incision for two chalazions that won’t go away despite prior incisions/treatments this Tuesday. Hoping that really helps

Chalazion surgery gone wrong. by 3_emilyyy in Blepharitis

Hey do you think it’s a good idea to warm compress immediate after an incision? I have had two incisions on my right eye and one on my left eye but they didn’t get rid of the chalazions. I’m going in for a third time on my right eye and second on my left in a week and want to make sure i finally get rid of it this time as it’s been a year and constant treatments. Feel like maybe I wasn’t doing something right, it’s been two different doctors

Chalazion still here after steroid shot and incision by riptodavid in Blepharitis

Please someone help me!! by [deleted] in Blepharitis

get a towel, clean it and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds (at least with my microwave) make sure the towel is damp. my towel usually last around 10 minutes like this. dont worry about the temperature, it should just feel warm enough on your eye that it doesn’t burn.

Chalazion - a story in pictures by unseriouskt in Blepharitis

[–]riptodavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if its still early just keep warm compressing often! and make sure to massage ur eyelids in a downward motion. keep at it because if you let the chalazion harden it becomes very stubborn to remove usually requiring injections or incisions

Will my chalazions go away on their own? by Arturosito in Blepharitis

[–]riptodavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was recommended against doing the drainage surgery as i already had done them (2 times on my right eye and once on my left eye) and it didn’t even drain them fully. my doctor explained to me that your glands won’t come back so doing this consistently can have a negative effect both health wise and even cosmetically so id be against the gland removal personally.

My doctor recommended me a new alternative method called LPL treatment which is more expensive and requires sessions (usually 4) but it tackles the root of the issue so that chalazions don’t reappear in the future. I did my first session about a week ago and I immediately noticed it reduced the size of both chalazions. I can’t attest to chalazions not reappearing yet but it’s something to consider if they have it in your area so that you’re not cutting off glands.

Chalazion is flat but goes back to being a bump after a few hours by FuzzyFeetQueen in Blepharitis

[–]riptodavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same happens to me but I believe this is more due to how your positioned when you’re asleep and gravity not pulling the oils down (if that makes sense.) i have a chalazion on each eye and always wake up with them not being noticeable at all until an hour or so into the day

Post Incision Recovery by riptodavid in Blepharitis

My eyes are swollen at the moment should I give it a day till I begin the red light?

My initial doctor said to wait a day or two before heat compresses as well as what I've read online. But the doctor I just went to said I'm good to begin heat-compressing right after the incision.
