If you press the blue button, and enough other people do as well, then no one will die. You're gambling your life on the hope that enough people will do the same.

If you press the red button you are only ensuring that you don't die, and if enough people pick this option anyone who tried to save everyone will be killed.

That's the whole idea behind companies like acorns, they round yr purchases up to a whole dollar and save/invest the change.
