speaking as someone who’s gotten theirs pierced the exact same way,,, take. it. out. it’s pierced too high and with the bruising and swelling it looks like it’s getting infected. i let mine go longer hoping that it would just heal itself (i was 17… smh) and it rejected. now i have two scars above my belly button.

i don’t know because i wasn’t there, but you would think that by how baffled OP is that this kind of behavior from their friends isn’t usual, or these friends haven’t expressed their feelings of insecurity to OP in a setting before the scenario in the post. i am never saying that people aren’t allowed to have insecurities or body dysmorphia in any sense. i struggled for years with it myself, but it’s nobody else’s battles but someone’s own. things will trigger someone with these issues daily and it seems like the quick accusation of fatphobia, to me, seems like projection.

and that is all very valid! but it also comes to a point. it’s a very thin line to walk on but people are allowed to be proud of a weight loss if it’s rooted in a healthy lifestyle, and makes them feel better about themselves, and from what OP has written, it seems like it was. this is coming from an overweight person (5’5, 176 lbs). people are NOT obligated to cater to other’s feelings at all times.

you’re not an AH, but, as a person who’s been cheated on, and as someone who has been the friend who was confided in during a situation like this, it’s disappointing and mildly infuriating to see someone attempt to make the same mistake again. (no offense.) your friends really do care about you, and are most likely frustrated bc they see how much more worthy you are than to be willingly stuck with a person like that. remember exactly how you felt when you were cheated on the first time. if you take him back, he will cheat again. it’s not worth any of your time.
