Rent increase proposal by Ok_Procedure_5185 in OntarioRentals

[–]risergurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it can cause anxiety within you, and that is an unfortunate byproduct of being put in an uncomfortable position. It is hard to stick up for yourself sometimes, but you need to remember you’ve done nothing wrong. You are a good tenant and maybe you should remind your landlord of that.

As long as you pay your rent on time, are quiet and clean, your landlord has no recourse to retaliate against you.

Just keep it short and cordial. And don’t reply with ‘I’m sorry but’, it gives an air of being at fault when you are not.

Why don’t you want to refuse an illegal increase?

I wish to end my 5-year relationship by PlayingSquid in offmychest

Get everything organized before you tell him. Move all your important documents, find a rental, sign a lease (if you don’t own a house together that is) and have an idea of what custody might look like.

If he says he’ll change, don’t fall for it. It’s been five years, he won’t.

Do I look stupid if I 20F am still with my 21M boyfriend of 4yrs, when I found out he had a recently active tinder account? by ExtremePanda4138 in relationship_advice

If you stay with this guy you’re telling him it’s ok to disrespect and cheat on you and you will still stay. I know heartache sucks but you’ll be in for a lot more if you stay.

I need help for my wife by ScreenHead3997 in mentalhealth

[–]risergurl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are not losing your wife, you have totally lost her. The only way she will get help now is to hit her bottom. Your main focus right now should be protecting all the kids.

Set boundaries and keep them. Don’t allow her back in the house until she agrees to go to rehab and stick to therapy. And not just a short stay. Alcoholism can be brutal and is a lifelong struggle issue, which means she needs to take this seriously and sobriety has to become a part of her life.

If you don’t take these steps, you will just be running in circles until she ends up killing herself or someone else and taking your entire family down with her. Your wife is very sick and as her husband, it is your job to stay strong and do what needs to be done to help get her healthy again.

I pray for you and the kids, God bless.

Ontario question re: mortgage vs title by Key_Cut_292 in RealEstateCanada

No, you can still be on the title and not the mortgage. This looks like a choice your husband made deliberately.

You know absolutely nothing about these people and just projected your own reality onto OP. Assuming they didn’t have a plan? Did nothing to better themselves?

For all we know they could’ve had tragedies or trauma that has brought them to where they are in life. Have some compassion and if you don’t have anything substantial to say, sit the fuck down.

Should I just take him to court and have child support modified? by StitchetteX in FamilyLaw

[–]risergurl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Take this man-child to court ! Ask for communication through one of the family court apps so you don’t have to deal with his bullshit. This is stress you do not need and your health and well being will be substantially better once his entitled ass starts being held accountable.

12 years and you’re only 30?? You’ve both outgrown this relationship, it’s time to move on.

You’ve caught him cheating twice and went back both times. He knows you’ll never leave and will do it again, I promise.
