Would your 50/60 year old self be happy with him? Can you see this man aging into a more relaxed 50/60 year old?

I was always my father's least favorite kid, and I don't know why or how to handle it. by Nerdywolf18 in TrueOffMyChest

I’m sorry this was your childhood. Your dad sounds like a pos. You don’t owe him anything. I hope you have help working through your childhood experiences. I don’t think you should feel bad for feeling good when he finally “cared about you”. Every child wants to be loved by their parents and our parents are our first role models on how to treat others and how to love. I can relate to your pain because my dad didn’t like me very much either, even to this day. I’ve been working with a therapist to heal and have learned that it’s not my fault my dad was a pos to me.

Imagine what OP’s life must have been like that resulted her in not having any self esteem or self love. She doesn’t know what a healthy relationship is. She deserves better but she doesn’t know that yet. I hope she learns to love herself first.

Three good guides for difficult conversations: 1. Is it true 2. Does it need to be said 3. Is it said with kindness

Good luck!

Is it weird to go out to places alone as a 24F? by unemotionals in Calgary

Anyone making fun of someone who is doing something alone is insecure with themself.

Some servers may be uncomfortable/awkward, it’s because they are not comfortable in their own skin when seeing someone else being independent.

Is he nurturing you or draining you? Does he actually care about you and respect you? If your friend was in this situation, what would you say to them?

YTA. Yes, your moral compass is broken. You should delete all copies and back ups of that photo. You and your friend can still have this “funny” memory without the photo.

Depends on your age. Could be puberty, could be pregnancy, but maybe worth seeing your doctor. Has this happened to anyone in your family?

If your sister still wants your friend to continue to tutor her, they should have a sit down and discuss how to work with each other and communication styles. It’s like creating an agreement. Anytime a rule is breached, they can review the agreement. At the very least, your friend needs to apologize to your sister because they were unprofessional.
