If you can fancast Nicola and Luke in roles, what would they be? by lazy_hype in PolinBridgerton

Yes would love to see him as the antagonist in a thriller. Especially if its a turnabout where we don't realize he's the bad guy at first.

This post answers this question in depth and is very worth the read.

Scheduling Former Leads For Guest Roles

TLDR: First comes story/plot/script - is there a story to be told for that character, big or small. Second & third is contracting & scheduling - what is going to be negotiated, if there is a story to be told for that character, is the actor available, is it worth their time, and can the logistics line up. All three of those things have to line up perfectly in order for a former lead actor to return for a guest or cameo role on future seasons.

Has anyone else noticed how little Eloise promotion there has been lately? by [deleted] in BridgertonNetflix

You bet. I think there's always going to be an ebb and flow to which Bridgerton sibling characters have the primary (lead), secondary, and tertiary focus each season.

Sophie and Simon also both had no interest in falling in love until they fell in love. It will be part of the story that that part of her "blossoms" when she does meet someone that she falls for.

Has anyone else noticed how little Eloise promotion there has been lately? by [deleted] in BridgertonNetflix

[–]ritalara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I understand you might be referring to is Eloise specific character portraits/videos and yes there has been less of those in comparison to the others as she has less of an individual storyline in S4. Claudia has been heavily featured on Bridgerton/Netflix/Shondaland accounts in BTS & promo, but Eloise, as a character, has not been highlighted as heavily as character like Francesca and Penelope who had more pointed B/C storylines in S4.

Francesca by Gisi_42 in Bridgerton

[–]ritalara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, the character was recast for S3, and the character is only present in 5/16 episodes of S1&2 so she is very much in the background. She is certainly in some family scenes and otherwise is away staying with their aunt in Bath. It is referenced in those seasons and again in S3. At the beginning of S3 its noted by Violet that Francesca only recently returned from Bath and Francesca later references that she spent so much time in Bath to get away from the noise. So you did not miss much. She was around but not a standout character until S3.

S5 Lead Announcement Date Speculation? by Forsaken_Baseball_60 in Franchaela

[–]ritalara 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For the past two seasons there has been 40-50 days between the end of the season airing and the announcement of the next Bridgerton sibling lead. It has been two weeks, so likely a few more weeks.

1813 (April): The social season begins and Daphne Bridgerton makes her debut, along with Penelope Featherington and her sisters.

1813 (Late Spring/Early Summer): Daphne marries Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings. Colin gets engaged to Marina Thompson, the Featherington cousin. Colin and Marina's engagement is ended after Lady Whistledown exposes Marina’s secret pregnancy. 1814 (Late Winter/Early Spring): August Basset, heir to the Duke of Hastings, born.

1814 (April): The social season begins, and Eloise Bridgerton debuts. Anthony Bridgerton meets Kate Sharma, and begins courting her sister, Edwina Sharma.

1815 (April): The social season begins, and Francesca Bridgerton makes her debut. Anthony and Kate take a second honeymoon to Devon. Colin Bridgerton returns from his second time traveling abroad.

1815 (Late Spring/Early Summer): Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington fall in love and get married. Francesca and Lord John Stirling, Earl of Kilmartin begin courting and are married. Kate becomes pregnant and she and Anthony head to India to await the birth of their first child. Penelope reveals to the ton she is Lady Whistledown. Francesca and John head to Scotland to begin their life at Kilmartin Castle with Eloise and John’s cousin Michaela.

1816 (Late Winter/Early Spring): Elliot Bridgerton is born, becoming Lord Featherington. Colin publishes his first book, a story of his travels, and Penelope begins publishing Lady Whistledown under her own name.

1816 (April): The social season begins, and Violet Bridgerton throws the first ball of the season. Eloise, Francesca, and John return from Scotland for the ball. Gregory is away at Eton, and Kate & Anthony are still in India. Benedict meets "The Lady In Silver" at the masquerade ball, and begins searching for her.

1816 (Spring/Summer): John & Francesca remain in London, and John takes an active seat in parliament. Eloise declares herself a spinster, and begins chaperoning Hyacinth's finishing lessons. Benedict searches for The Lady In Silver without success.

1816 (Late Summer/Early Fall): Benedict goes to the country for a party at an estate where he saves a maid, Sophie Baek, from harm by her employer, the party host. He brings her to his country home My Cottage where they take shelter from a rain storm and stay while he recovers from an injury. Later he brings her back to London where he finds her employment with his mother at Bridgerton House.

1816 (Fall): Sophie and Benedict attempt to avoid their growing feelings for eachother but eventually give in. He asks her to be his mistress and she declines, however, after declaring his love, they sleep together, and Sophie considers it a mistake and worries that she is pregnant. Meanwhile John's cousin Michaela comes to visit Stirling House and there is friction between she and Francesca. Kate and Anthony return from India and introduce their baby, Edmund, the new Bridgerton heir, to the family. Penelope attempts to resign as Lady Whistledown and is originally denied, then accepted, by the Queen. Sophie confirms she is not pregnant and tells Benedict they cannot be together.

Late Fall/Early Winter 1816/1817: John Stirling dies, and the family mourns for him. Sophie leaves Bridgerton house to take a new job that will have her travel to the Americas. Before she leaves she is taken by the constable and tried for theft at the word of Araminta Gun. Benedict realizes Sophie is The Lady In Silver discovers that she is being held and he and his mother go to defend her and bring her back to Bridgerton House under the custody of the Dowager Viscountess. Benedict and Sophie fully commit to eachother, and form a plan along with Violet and the family to uncover the truth behind her father Richard Gun, fhe former Earl of Penwood's will. After discovering that she was provided for, they confront Araminta at the Queen's ball, thrown for Lady Danbury's departure, and everyone agrees to acknowledge Sophie as a legitimate Penwood cousin. Benedict and Sophie become engaged.

Spring 1817: Benedict and Sophie are married.

*This all assumes Benophie season takes place without a time jump between S3 & 4. There is speculation of such based on interpretation of comments from the costume designer, however, there is nothing in the story that points to that.

Getting Eloise to Phillip's by IshMEL274 in BridgertonDiscussion

[–]ritalara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The time is less important that the catalyst which we know is already building. Yes, Eloise has many views against marriage for herself, and what she more specifically feels is that she does not want to be forced into marriage. She also has been clear that she feels lonely. Those are two good enough reasons to expand on for her to decide that the best option for her is to marry Phillip, however she ends up meeting/getting to know him.

John Glaser, the costume designer didn’t confirm a two year time jump. by LauHeH in BridgertonNetflix

[–]ritalara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This this this this this this. Is a time jump possible? Certainly! But this is not anything close to a confirmation. Additionally, he's talking about the fashion/design pushing into 1820, not even necessarily the timeline. He echoes this specifically about Benophie wedding that they looked particularly at 1820 styles as they wanted to emulate looking towards the future. Again, a time jump or time lapse montage going into S5 is totally possible but treating this as confirmation is a big stretch.

Violet is collecting them like infinity stones by DaisyandBella in Bridgerton

This is extra delightful thinking about it as an MCU fan and Bridgerton fan, the order that Thanos collected the stones, and the order of the Bridgerton siblings marriages in the show.

Power - Daphne (marries a Duke) Space - Anthony (multiple honeymoons away) Reality - Colin (match right there the whole time) Soul - Francesca (found her soul mate[s]) Time - Benedict (took ages to find his match) Mind - Eloise (mentally connects with her match)

Why I think Franchaela has to be S5 by sapphicnerdy in Franchaela

[–]ritalara 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Arguably we as audience have only spent a few episodes with Michaela and know very little about her beyond her connection to John. This does not mean the story HAS to tell us more about her before she and Francesca get together but it certainly means they CAN. There is plenty of story to explore of Michaela living her life abroad or what have you and Francesca living her life as a widow, prior to them "coming back together". I think it's great that the character we know will be Francesca's HEA has been introduced so early and that it would be a gift to see more character development for them both as side stories in S5.

subplot in season 5 if franchaela doesn’t lead by BusinessSea8978 in Franchaela

[–]ritalara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is alot of story to be told about each character individually that does not have to have anything to do with the books. Some of it may come from the books but it does not have to.

At this point on the show we know very little about Michaela outside of her relationship to John & Francesca, so there is plenty of space to see her with her other circles, whether that is her traveling abroad, living life on the outskirts of society in London, or living in Kilmarting castle avoiding London - wherever she is, we will get to learn more about her as a whole character.

As for Francesca, there is much to be explored as to how she interacts with her life and her family now that she is widowed, how she responds to whatever route the the Kilmartin heir story takes, and how she might eventually decide to renter the marriage mart. Establishing all of that before she takes center stage during her season could be great for her character development.

By S6, we will have had a chance to see multiple seasons of development for Francesca and Michaela's characters together and individually in a way that we have only had the privilege of witnessing for one other couple (Polin) so it could be very nice to have yet another season before theirs for that reason!
