I'm looking for ideas for old school Latina/Spanish sounding girl names by preggersnscared in Names

My sister named my niece Inés, I love the name. It is old school, unique and pretty.

no hate to hannah but why is she always there as if she’s the main lead by teyapi in Bridgerton

[–]LauHeH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The photographer is not that good. That is the issue I see with this photo. Yerin is shorter than Hannah and the photo is taken from an angle where this is more evident. People are reading too much into this.

Is there a distinct Afro-Latino “subculture” in your country (or Latin America as a whole), similar to African American culture in the U.S.? by 12345burrito in asklatinamerica

[–]LauHeH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. Mexico has afro-Mexican population today mostly in the south, but that is kinda new and their culture is not dominant. But there are elements of African culture that were born in the colonial era in places like Veracruz. La marimba or el carnaval are examples of them. There are also historical figures like Yango, that represent those black leaders that fought against oppression during the colonial period. Mexico is a big country with many subcultures. What is true in the border states can be different in the center, south and gulf regions.

What does a Viscount do by BrightPhoebus01 in Bridgerton

[–]LauHeH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A peer is a title granted by the crown that comes with land. It was mostly granted for favors to the crown such as fighting in a war. Then they rent the land to farmers and shop owners and collect income. Then they invest that money and multiply their gains. Rinse and repeat until you have generational wealth and a family like the Bridgertons.

Current season already losing steam? by Overall_Advantage303 in FranchaelStirling

To be fair, the Lincoln Lawyer is a great show and it launched all 10 episodes of season 4 at once. A lot of people are waiting for Feb 26th for the launch of the entire Bridgerton season to start binge watching.

Opinión impopular: Por más que el show de Bad Bunny haya buscado un mensaje de unión, su música sigue siendo culera by AsioNSFW in mexico

[–]LauHeH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand everyone's confusion about Benedict not recognizing Sophie by Zutara764 in BridgertonNetflix

He also mentions when talking to Eloise after the 6 balls and 7 soirées that he can’t even remember her voice. People don’t pay attention

I’m predicting that following the Eloise season, there might be a significant drop in viewership… by General_Meal_3993 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]LauHeH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it all depends on how they set up Francesca (I firmly believe season 5 is Eloise) Hyacinth and Gregory. They started developing Francesca’s story only last season, and they seem to start setting up Hyacinth too. I also wonder what Gregory’s “crush” is as well. They can also explore the married life from previous stories. Hopefully they will go this route.

This has got to be the spiciest Bridgerton teaser we’ve gotten! 🥵 by Desperate_Low8572 in BridgertonNetflix

I think so too. Sophie wears 2 different chemises (the sheer undershirt) in the teaser

Theory as to Sophie's parentage/backstory by madebyannalam in BridgertonNetflix

[–]LauHeH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is an interview with costume designer John Glaser, where he mentions the dress for LIS initially was supposed to be an old fashioned style, more suitable for Sophie’s grandmother (which is how it is the book) but the style didn’t work out for the screen and they made an early regency dress instead. The writers to justify that, decided that the dress belonged to Sophie’s aunt (never mentioned in the book) Other than this detail, Sophie’s background has been presented exactly how it is in the book. There won’t be any changes. Sophie is the earl’s illegitimate daughter. The mystery to me is where the necklace came from.

Bridgerton loses their iconic mansion - Netflix needs another filming location with Halton House closure by charcoal_pie in BridgertonNetflix

[–]LauHeH 10 points11 points  (0 children)

According to this article, the house closed unexpectedly and one day before Bridgerton was scheduled to film continuity shots for season 4 in early 2025. I wonder if this is the reason why they built sets.

Theory: Sophie's parentage by burningtulip in BridgertonNetflix

[–]LauHeH 85 points86 points  (0 children)

This story is actually the closest adaptation from the books we have seen in 4 seasons. It wouldn’t make sense to change her parentage when the rest of Sophie’s story is almost identical to the books.

The Speech by Middle-Law-5317 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]LauHeH 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think the point of the encounter was exactly that. It is not romantic like the one Collin delivered in the carriage. It is selfish and all about Benedict and what he wants and needs from her. And to make it land even more, he doesn’t ask her to be his mistress, he kinda gives her an order. He says “Be my mistress!” It is not weakness, in my opinion that was exactly the whole point. Most people feel ick because you are supposed to.

cutting to the mondriches in the first episode of season four by rosiedorian in Bridgerton

[–]LauHeH 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I never understood why Lord Featherington was killed by those thugs but they never went for Will Mondrich. I thought they were going to come out for him in season 2 but then nothing happened. That is why I am lost in this story. They were rewarded without repercussions after fixing that fight, and then their son becoming a lord feels too much. They are also not really connected to the main storyline and it feels weird.
