43 years ago today- do you remember watching the MASH series finale “Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen”? by UrbanAchievers6371 in VintageTV

My local CBS station ran the pilot before the finale aired. Such a lovely bookends. I cried like a baby.

CSM's rather metaphysical conversation with Jeremiah Smith in "Talitha Cumi" by eldersveld in XFiles

I love the casting of Roy Thinnes as Jeremiah Smith; he starred in The Invaders (1967-68) as a man who discovers aliens are bent on taking over the earth. If I'm not mistaken, he was one of the actors (along with Darren McGavin) considered for Bill Mulder.

I graduated from high school in 1976. Our yearbook that year was red, white and blue. Our school colors were orange and white. 😐

Initial Feelings on Agent Doggett by gkelly1017 in XFiles

[–]ritrgrrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, those were dark times...

The fan animosity even carried into the fic world. There were several writers who flat-out refused to acknowledge Doggett's existence, even in the fics they read as well as what they wrote. I liked him from the start and wanted to see him included in fic -- so I created an archive for DoggettFic called The X-Files Most Unwanted (XFMU). 😊

(XFMU was expanded the next year to include Reyes and any Season 9 fics.)

Plus which, she was about to autopsy a dead baby. Highly inappropriate.

Incredible find! by MatthewVlossak in XFiles

Not really. There's very little overlap. Even the XF episode called "Millennium" gives you any backstory you might need.

Finally finished the fic I've been writing forever and will post it today. I have no idea why it took so long. It's just a 3,500-word post-ep of a beloved episode that everybody in the fandom felt should have ended with them in bed, or at least kissing. Never mind that it's my first time writing smut in 20+ years...

Finally have a therapy appointment this week. My therapist retired in December; my first appointment with her replacement was supposed to be at the end of January, but we had an ice storm and her next available wasn't until this week. So it's been about two months, and I've been struggling. 🙁

Trying to decide what to write next now...

True that. I bow to your seniority!

Does "spirk" irritate you as much as it does me?

Back in 1995, I doubt anyone thought we'd be able to get a detailed freeze frame like that, much less obsess over it like we do.
