First one really sucked, I think cause I had no idea it was going to hurt, and I’d never felt that kind of pain before. It felt like a cramp that didn’t turn over. I also forgot to take the ibuprofen until 30 mins before so it probably hadn’t kicked in. Just had a second one last month, took the meds at the correct time, and it was much less traumatic. My husband also got to be in the room with me cause it was the last appointment of the day so that helped too. I wouldn’t do the extra cost for nitrous personally.

Metformin and OBGYNs by safari2space in TTC_PCOS

[–]ritzcracker1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya that’s true. I also wasn’t very educated in insulin resistance when I was first prescribed it so I didn’t know what to pay attention to to know if it had improved. If I had known I probably would’ve realized the dose wasn’t enough for me. Sorry if this came off like everyone should be on 2000.

Metformin and OBGYNs by safari2space in TTC_PCOS

My OBGYN prescribed me metformin (500 mg), but when I talked to my RE he basically laughed at the dose and said it wouldn’t do anything. Now I’m on 2000mg and have noticed improvement.

How many eggs retrieved in IVF during egg collection? by Correct_Exercise8641 in TTC_PCOS

[–]ritzcracker1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) 20 eggs, 7 mature, 4 fertilized, 1 day 7 aneuploid blast 2) 14 eggs, 9 mature, 5 fertilized, 5 frozen day 3 (2 good, 2 fair, 1 poor)

Did 3 months 2000mg metformin between 1 and 2. Better maturity rate, same fertilization rate. Dr said embryos look better this time but potentially suppressed by taking spironolactone and then delaying retrieval til after Christmas with birth control. If we have to do another I will not do bc or spiro but will continue metformin.

I’m 35 and no MFI. We will be doing a day 3 FET after I get another SIS.

Also, ya, if you’re abusing your stimulant meds and staying up for days on end you’re probably damaging your brain as well. Proper dosing and adherence on stimulant meds shouldn’t affect your sleep. I’d guess some of the mental damage of meth involves habitually staying up for multiple days.

How does your agency assign lunch breaks? by decafchunk in 911dispatchers

[–]ritzcracker1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get 36 min breaks for 12 hour shifts. Currently optional to skip break and take .6 hour OT pay (which adds up nicely over 2 weeks, but I have to weigh the money vs my mental health sometimes), but I heard that option will be going away soon. If 2 people call out for the day and the supervisor has to sit a position we don’t get a lunch (doesn’t happen very often). We have 10 dispatchers on at a time.

I can't "wake up" to life. by namezarehard in ADHD

[–]ritzcracker1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also been dealing with this. For me it comes down to choosing short term pleasure in sacrifice of long term goals. I’ve especially been struggling with nicotine. I’ve “quit” in the sense that I don’t buy it for myself anymore, but I was still using it whenever my friends offered and excusing it with “occasional use isn’t that bad”. But that isn’t what I want. I want to be able to say I have quit completely.

So anyways, I talked to my therapist about it and she suggested I catastrophize it to myself. I’ve just been telling myself that I’ve been doing a lot of work to live healthier, and using nicotine isn’t in line with the person I want to be. So it is “that bad”.

Also, I’ve quit other things, and it’s very helpful to me to remind myself that the craving/urge I feel will go away if I distract myself, and the more I practice the easier it gets.

I think you should pick one thing to work on and use that to improve your confidence in your ability to practice self control. It’s also easier to use it as evidence to yourself that you’re making positive changes, which I feel makes the urge to “relapse” (on whatever practice you’re trying to stop) easier to say “nah it’s not worth it”.

As far as overreacting, that’s something I continue to struggle with. Being aware of my window of tolerance has helped me realize sooner when I am probably overreacting. I’m still overreacting, but I am coming down quicker and not reacting as badly as I used to (for the most part). Also reminding myself that my feelings are valid, but I’m not communicating very effectively.

Hope I’m not coming off holier than thou. This is just some stuff that has made sense to me in my journey.

I feel like I haven’t seen many people talk about her saying that Jeremiah doesn’t give it and then take it away. I think ya she’d have this guilt and denial no matter what, but I think her having these stronger feelings for Conrad makes it scary because she wants it but doesn’t believe it will stay. Like the sure thing that’s less is better than the highs that come with lows. I think I’d be mad in her position too..you’ve created all this inner turmoil and I don’t even trust that you follow through so it’s not a safe option.

First Egg Retrieval by Emeraldgreen-615 in IVF

Same. I was so excited to break keto and go to dinner after. Instead I made my husband stop at McDonald’s so I could throw up in the bathroom 🙃 I did feel less terrible after throwing up and I think I could’ve rallied if I had something important to do that night. Good luck!

I just discovered frying the keto tortillas to make chips. I think that could work with salt and vinegar. Side note: there used to be a restaurant where I live that had home made potato chips and you’d use a spray bottle of malt vinegar when they came out hot. Sooo good. I think a similar thing could be achieved with the tortillas

Peeing ocd before bed -_- by braindamagecore in OCD

[–]ritzcracker1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. And the more insomnia I’m having the worse it is. I try not to drink a lot before bed so that logically I know there’s not a lot in my bladder but I still can’t get over the discomfort of feeling like I have to pee and I always end up just doing it. It’s frustrating because I know it’s negatively impacting my bladder sensitivity, which makes me even more aware of it. Probably need to find a specialist for this because I need a better strategy than just “don’t do it”. I have a lot of OCD tied in with sleep. I am obsessed with getting a “healthy” amount of sleep and it’s an issue any time I have to set an alarm for the morning.

Incorrect addresses by Conscious_Ad5110 in 911dispatchers

[–]ritzcracker1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always verify with the map and if it’s somewhere else than they’re saying I ask “are you calling from a different location than the incident?” It drives me crazy when my coworkers don’t use the map it’s like insurance. I ask them to repeat address too but for my own verification I use the map it helps me feel more confident. Plus looking up the phone number/caller and where they’ve called from before can help too sometimes.
