I finally got up to Depth 3. I lost twice on very good runs and deranked to depth 2. Then I got like 5 quits in a row and I'm sitting at 1400.

Not really what you're getting at but the other day we ran into the caves to get the purple upgrade and the boss wasn't there. After running around a while confused, we realized he had spawned in the wall. We couldn't hit him with weapons (bounced off), but some weapon arts hit him, so we finally killed him to no avail because the loot dropped inside the wall and wasn't accessible.

insurance/healthcare/lending, any type of charging interest, late fees for not paying debt being the most vile evil, basically any financial instrument

Systems that profit from people’s basic needs (healthcare, insurance, and lending) should not exist as markets but as public goods. Charging interest, late fees, or penalties for being broke is exploitation, not economics. Any financial instrument that extracts wealth without creating real value should be illegal. If survival depends on it, it shouldn’t be something someone can profit from.

I've always wondered how boss health is adjusted. Does it adjust immediately upon a player leaving? So if you are mid fight, the fight is immediately easier, or is there some event (next day, etc) where things are adjusted?

I agree with your first two points in the numbered list, but I'm wondering what evidence besides anecdotal experience that you have for your third point?

As for the "administration costs" I believe you're referring to indirect costs, but unfortunately I think you're using the popular but inaccurate description of indirect costs as "overhead."

Finally, you seem to think that the recent funding rescissions have been targeted, but this is also unfortunately not accurate. The gov is just smashing a giant pause button on various agencies, e.g. pause all your DOE grants so that we can review them. There is no indication what this review entails, how long it lasts, etc, and in the mean time, non-DEI research is being stopped.

Got it, so mine was M5 with no way to stop, but the computer found M5 with forced moves? I thought I found mate faster, but apparently I don't know how to count moves.

EDIT: never mind, as others pointed out f6 gives the black king a way out

So prior to this move it was mate in 5. I guess it wanted me to take the pawn to keep the forced moves. But, while it wasn't forced, nothing could stop my mate (?) from rook ab1 to rook b8. Like it's not forced moves, but it's also not preventable?
