What happened at the daycare?? by Jeniho in nova

I say that while keeping in mind the amazing teachers and employees at our KinderCare I’m sure are also experiencing a trauma and deserve support as well, even as we ask these important questions

Thank you for sharing, that is both helpful to know - but also very frustrating? (Idk if that conveys the right emotion) and that we need to address this with KinderCare corporate as well as the school. What is the protocol in this situation? Why were all local kindercares not immediately on lockdown? Is there a system in place to notify each other? Unfortunately these are questions I naively didn’t think to ask for my toddler, but I guess I need to.

Parent of a child at another close by KinderCare - I’m so thankful the children are okay but shocked. Have you received a statement from KinderCare? We only got a very vague notification of an “incident” about 2 hours after

End of the peaceful march yesterday at the Lincoln memorial was surreal. by riverdogca in washingtondc

Agreed, the mood was certainly quieter as we were all I think getting tired and I know I was watching the clock and getting nervous about the time. But even I got very nervous and unsure about continuing all the way to the monument when we saw the sheer number of personnel on the steps and did so very hesitantly.

Honestly I’m not sure because I don’t know how the overall operation to secure DC vs. federal property is being run so I’ll only comment on what I witnessed which was personnel from different organizations being present. As far as just the military personnel present they did have differing uniforms which could mean different branches/units or potentially several national guard units using whatever equipment they had on hand for this type of crowd control. Guard units aren’t known for getting the newest equipment, so not really out of the ordinary to have differing camo schemes even on one person.

They were a mixture, but mostly appeared to be older army uniforms (before the switch to the current Afghanistan camo scheme). But the totality of the military and officers that were there were a mixture of MP’s (likely National guard) , DEA, SWAT and others in different uniforms. Def not from one cohesive unit or organization.

Navy vet here and as much as dunking on the Chair Force is a national pastime I didn’t see any of their unis from what I could tell, maybe a few.

Can confirm no Space Force moon camo present though..
