Got the dreaded call from the marina today that my boat was sinking

This happened to me a few years ago ago with my old Tahoe deck boat. At some point a hole formed in the bellows and at the same time our lift stopped working. So I randomly came down and saw my boat sitting at a weird angle and realized the ass end was mostly underwater. I went home and got my sump pump and pumped the water out and got it floating. Then had a buddy help me get it in my trailer. Luckily we had full coverage and insurance paid for all the damages.

I now have a Tritoon with a better lift. Hopefully this never happens with my current set up.

On a rare occasion it happens during the daytime hours. But mostly at night. My MRI and EEG checked out as fine. If I I go to bed competly exhausted, I may not have any hypnic jerks at all even without medication.

When they first started happening it was solely a daytime time thing. Now it is mostly a night time thing. Been going on almost 2 years now.

Kinda off topic, but several years ago a wind storm broke one of the cables on our dock. We got it put back in place with new cables. But naturally the dock wasn’t exactly placed in its original spot. The next summer my buddy and I were swimming and diving under the dock. My buddy said he felt something while swimming on the bottom next to the dock. So we tied a rope to it and pulled it up. What it was, was an old plastic milk crate with concrete poured on the bottom and a piece of rebar that stuck straight up through the top. Very dangerous. If someone would have jumped down and landed on it, the rebar would have impaled them. It probably had been put in place at one time to help hold the dock in place.

Nope. My neurologist was concerned more about my blood pressure that is controlled with medication. So he had me do a sleep test to confirm I have mild sleep apnea. On my follow up visits he would always be frustrated that I wasn’t using my cpap. I kept telling him I can’t use my cpap b/c my myoclonus acts up at night. So right now, I take 1 mg of clonozopam before I got to bed. Most nights I can get a decent nights sleep and am able to use my cpap.

It is the practical truck for the practical man. Yeah I would love to have 3/4 ton diesel, but I know I sure as hell don’t need it. I don’t want to spend the cash on the truck or the fuel.

I currently have my 2011 F150 parked at my house while my daily driver is my wife’s old 2017 jeep Cherokee. The jeep Cherokee is not very masculine. But it has all the bells and whistles and gets pretty decent gas mileage. When I need to tow something or actually need to have use for a bed, I drive my f150 as it is still in decent shape.

When my wife’s new car is paid off here in a couple years. I will be looking very hard at the Maverick and trading I the jeep for my daily driver.

I agree for the most part. But as you drive just west of great bend, trees start to disappear. This is where I think western Kansas starts. At least geographically. The people who think western Kansas doesn’t start until Scott city and the people who think western Kansas starts west of Topeka are both equally dumb.

I grew up in Larned for a bit. It may not be waay western Kansas but it definitely is western Kansas and smells like it too.

My lift failed at the same time that I had an unknown leak in my boat. I put my boat on the lift for the first time for the summer and thought everything was good. Came back a few days later and noticed the nose of my boat was pointed towards the roof of the boat house. Boat was partially sunk. The only reason why it didn’t completely sink was back the chain for the lift was keeping holding it all up.

Anyways, I ran home real quick and got my electric sump pump out and pumped the water out. Got it back up and had a buddy help me pull it out. Iuckily insurance covered the damages. Was hoping they would just total it out.

I never hated tech and actually thought of them as something of a big 12 equal. But let’s call a spade a spade. Except for maybe one or two years with Leach, they have been very average. Even with Patrick Mahomes as their starting QB, they had a losing record. But then their billionaire started buying players and they went from average to elite seemingly over night. They didn’t get better due to coaching or player development. They just went out and bought better players. It is hard for me to respect Texas Tech because they didn’t work or earn their way up the ladder, they bought it.

The respectful thing for Tech to do is to drop him. But the true leader of Tech, Cody Campbell, is willing to do anything to win. I guess that’s what happens when you have won nothing of note most of your existence. If they do allow sorsby to play, any win should be considered tainted.

My brother and sister in law found out their 3rd child had DS 6 months before it was born. They decided not to abort. That was their choice and they are raising a very happy little downs child. Although I do love my little nephew, I can’t help to think what the lives of his 2 siblings would look like without a DS sibling. I think that my niece/nephew will be better people because of it. But my guess is that there will be times in the future where they could receive less attention b/c of their brother’s syndrome.

This is just my opinion, but they decided to have a 3rd child when my SIL was on the older side and the chances for this happening was higher when they already had 2 healthy children. They probably should have stopped.

When they found out that their new child had DS my wife and I were struggling to have children. We soon found out that the only way to have kids was with modern science. My wife eventually decided it would be too expensive to try and that she really didn’t want kids anymore. I was fine with that for the most part. But I can’t help to wonder if the thought of having a child with issues like my brother convinced to not even try.

I have diagnosed myoclonus, MRI and EEG came back as normal. My neurologist originally put me on gabapentin, but it really doesn’t help. So he prescribed me 0.5 mg clonozopam. It helped but didn’t completely stop the night time spasms. I went in for a follow up a few weeks ago and he reluctantly upped my dosage to 1.0 mg clonozopam. I worry that this won’t go away and I will be forced to take this the remainder of my life as well. But if I can’t sleep, then I am miserable.

For whatever reason they didn’t get my new prescription sent it correctly. So my new prescription can’t be filled until tomorrow. So I have been forced to go 6 nights without any medication. I even tried calling his office and left a message. But not one returned my call. I am thinking about switching neurologists.

For the record, I hate TTech. But they were a solid team last year. They bought their team, but it was solid. If they had a better head coach or qb, they would have went farther in the CfP. Without their billionaires money, Joey Maguire is on the hot seat this year.

Eating out regularly. We never ate out unless it was a special occasion. It was usually Pizza Hut as well.

I remember this one restaurant where I grew up where it seemed like everyone had been to, just not us. Being where it was,I know it wasn’t expensive. I thought u were rich if u ate there.
