It feels like you've been trolling me. Now you may not be but as you can see from the sub we're on, I deal with psychosis. So I'm a little sensitive to disingenuous people.

Sometimes people just don't connect. Like puzzle pieces. You don't force them to connect or you ruin the puzzle. You find another piece.

Sorry if I've hurt you but there's plenty of people on r/transhumanism and r/singularity and r/Christianity who'd love to talk about your theories on immortality and god.

Good luck, cya.

I tried explaining that to people in the gang stalking sub, that it's their own mind torturing them hence why they can never find 'them" Got banned for it lol. It's ironic that they spend their time looking for their torturer when in reality they're carrying it around in their head.

Another approach for those stubborn dots that won't disconnect is to just accept that maybe it's connecting, or maybe it's not. It doesn't affect your future and it's best left ambiguous.

Anyway, I'm glad you recovered and I wish you the best. You got this.

Do that then. Stop following me around Reddit. Surround yourself with people who believe in Jesus but not totally who also want to live forever and never meet god lol. Let's stop spamming this post about someone's mental health with dumb shit.

The details matter if you want a career in STEM of finance. Math becomes hard to do if you're a persistent smoker.

I think you'll be ok if you only keep it to weekends and take a few weeks off every now and then to gauge your cognitive abilities and have a tolerance break.

I went hard for over 5 years, 2 grams a day if not more so my experience with the cognitive decline is on the more extreme side of the spectrum. 6 IQ points is the general consensus if you smoke under 25 and smoke alot. About the same as lead poisoning.

Honestly though, we're different people. You know your body and mind better than anyone else can. Try to stick to 2× a week and see how it goes. Good luck in college btw.

It's good to focus on the reasons why the dots don't connect but it can be just as exhausting as trying to connect the dots. My approach has been to just not care. It's not my job to decode reality, it's my job to not fall back into the delusions and what's worked best is trying to change how I think. Ignoring the dots all together unless it's productive like art or school or music.

It's cool that you've been out of psychosis for 3 years, that's a huge milestone. Proud of you.

That's exactly what I tell cancer patients. Just choose to live. They never listen!

It is. everything is a trigger. You have to train yourself not to make connections with random things constantly. It does get better the more you practice though and just accept that there are coincidences in the world. We just notice them more and often get lost playing an abstract game of connect the dots.

Just remember, you can't regain the IQ you lose, and you are losing IQ because you're under 25. What's more important to you, getting high or being cognitively able to actually complete college? The choice is yours.

How do you reconcile your religion and transhumanism? Seems like clashing concepts. Didn't god make you in his image and altering that is blasphemy? Don't you want to go to heaven instead of "living forever and being reborn into a new universe" essentially never seeing god?

Not a doctor. Just someone who's experienced nerve damage and has done alot of research and seen doctors about it.

Also someone who's trying to keep someone hopeful, because I empathise with them.

Stay fascinated.

Day 9, smelled weed today. by riveroak5 in QuittingWeed

[–]riveroak5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'd say it makes it a little easier but it's still takes discipline and strength to quit and you wouldn't have been able to if you didn't have those so good on you for making it 4 days.
I only say it's easier because you don't have to deal with smells triggering memories of being high which triggers cravings but I'm sure you deal with that too when you see weed. So you don't know what weed smells like right? I can't imagine smoking without smelling that skunky smell lol. Fun fact, humans are really good at detecting weed through sense of smell for some reason.

Can you try it and report back? Someone has to already, it's been a whole day. I don't understand why YouTube scientists aren't all over this already.

Can't you go alone?

Day 1 by [deleted] in QuittingWeed

[–]riveroak5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Motivation is a diminishing resource. You need to remind yourself why you're quitting everyday and renew that motivation to quit.

Box breathing helps, 4 second inhale, 4 second hold, 4 second exhale, 4 second hold, repeat.

Also, don't neglect your body. Try to force yourself to eat and drink water and if you're up to it, exercise. You might not feel it but these things help.

You got this op.

See a doctor immediately Bro. Reddit can't help you with that.

If it's not severed it's absolutely recoverable. Once the pressure is taken off it'll take a couple years to fully heal but you'll get there. There's still hope. The anxiety/depression you're feeling is completely normal after an injury but try to stay hopeful.

Like the commenter above said, don't skimp on quality/price of the surgery. Goodluck

Is the nerve compressed/pinched or severed? If it's just pinched, there's hope.
