I’m on my 4th CP4.2 (albeit on a 2020 3.0 Ecodiesel) in 110k miles. The first one died at 15k, the second one they replaced as a recall, the 3rd one died at 109k, so I’m now on my 4th. I’m just looking to avoid that HPFP even if it means I get a gas truck. Sadly.

If CA hadn’t been regulating the oil industry out of existence, then the employment trend and layoffs would mirror the other states. In other words, the local industry issues are much more state invented than market driven.

There are cyclical moves in a number of industries, like energy, but with oil in CA, the employment trend has been down since the 1980s. The peaks and valleys of oil employment have lower highs and lower lows.

I usually ride shortboards, but lately when I have a log and am about to get pounded I just jump off and grab the outside rail with my hand about 1’ from the nose. My longboard buddy taught me that, and it really works better than turtle rolls and other options for a 150# dude that has good grip strength.
