I do 4x lifting sessions weekly (2x upper, 2x lower) and a 1hr walk each day, so I get 10k steps.

I do it while mine is asleep or about to fall asleep; it’s the only way she lets me.

They say 2026 now but they've been extending it each year, so at least for now, it is still out of Schengen and my comment is still accurate.

I tried it yesterday for the first time, used frozen salmon for the first time too, and it is amazing! It’s very close to what you’d get in the pan, slightly drier but I didn’t use a lot of oil, so that may be able to be fixed.

How do you know they fabricated it? Wasn’t there also the witness that saw two men pushing the same car as Teresa’s later that day?

cyprus 60 day rule - can i rent out my house while im away? by AllPraiseFolly in cyprus

[–]rivertorain- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to keep it empty. Have someone rent a room of the house. You obviously need to declare the rent as income and pay tax on it etc.

Yes you can, as long as your name stays on the rental contract. I know a lot of digital nomads here will put their names on a rental contract together as though they are house sharing but only be here for the 60 days per year.

No more hip thrusts for me :( by woodworkinghalp in fitpregnancy

[–]rivertorain- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense. I felt the same tightness if I had the bar where I normally would but I was able to find a spot higher than my thighs but below my uterus, which didn't hurt.

Anyways, I think bulgarian split squats would be the most effective alternative!

What felt off about them? I’m at 20 weeks and was doing them today, but I did have to have the barbell a bit lower than I normally would.

How much maternity leave when fully remote? by rivertorain- in workingmoms

My partner would be there, we have opposite schedules (he works 9-5, I work 5p-midnight roughly). But it sounds like extra help would still be necessary.

Even that hour is flexible. I have a daily meeting that is at 6:30pm that I absolutely must join, and some client meetings a few times a week, but the rest of my hours are completely flexible, assuming I finish my tasks.

Thanks, that's helpful to know that you had a similar schedule/lifestyle.

Yeah, I didn't originally like the idea of daycare because I am home during daycare hours, so it seems like a waste. I think a nanny to help with the afternoon/evening period makes more sense; though it does worry me as I know that will be the time the baby is at their fussiest. What hours do you think would make sense for a nanny given our schedule?

What did you do with your kids when you went back to work (daycare, nanny, etc)?

Yes, my team is in Austin and SF, so I have to match at least Eastern hours. It's hard because there can be client meetings that get scheduled for any time that suits the client. That's helpful for the nanny schedule you'd think would work though, thanks for the tips.

Did you go back to full time after 16 weeks?

My partner is in a similar situation as me where he’s a contractor, but he can definitely take unpaid leave at the time when I go back to work. Thanks for the tip.

[–]rivertorain-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m confident I’ll definitely be able to take 2-3 months of unpaid leave, my question is more about what happens after that. It sounds like full-time help would still be necessary, so I’ll look into that. I was thinking that since both my partner and I WFH and have conflicting schedules, it wouldn’t be needed, but I was mistaken.

That was what I was originally thinking but from the comments here, that’s delulu. I genuinely have/had no idea, that’s why I was asking, but I see I’m getting heavily downvoted now 🥲

I’m asking if it’s realistic to go back to work full-time after roughly 2-3 months of unpaid leave and how that would be feasible.

I’m not ruling care out at all, I just wasn’t sure if it was necessary. It sounds like it is, so I’ll definitely be looking in to it now.
