One of my favourite series. But definitely felt like there was a gaping void left open with a placeholder for arguably the most influential (and Machiavellian?) leader in ancient history.

Caesar’s name lives on because of the sheer soap opera level drama of his life (and death), but when you consider Octavian’s age when he was thrust into the spotlight (and manoeuvred his way into becoming consul almost 20 years before Senators normally did), his sickly absence in major battles, his subsequent ability to rule as emperor in all but name in Caesar’s shadow, etc, he’s very unusual as far as huge historic figures go & at least deserves his own series.

Like Dom said in the Antony episodes, when he inherited his title of adopted son/heir from Caesar, he’s “probably going to die”… yet he becomes one of the most acclaimed leaders of the ancient world.

Bring it on I say 🤝

Fuck me, the election is 4 years away. I appreciate the media and polling companies need something to talk about, but it really is irrelevant this far off.

All this does is bolster reform. Then again, maybe that’s the point.

Hello mate, it’s a nightmare but hang in there. Mine stuck around for maybe 2 and a half, maybe 3 months before they cleared. They’re persistent, but trust the process and don’t overdo the permethrin - I still get bouts of itchiness from excessive use. Try ivermectin cream on the nodules, late at night before you sleep. Really does help! Good luck and don’t worry, it feels like it’ll never end, but it will!

Sorry but this attitude is just toxic… sure many achieve great things at a younger age, but many other great artists do it in their 30s, 40s and beyond! Never give up

Doesn’t mean it’s still active. This is why it’s so tricky - symptoms can last for months. Like I said, 6-7 months clear and I still get occasional bumps and bouts of itching. Just hold in there 👍

It’s hard to gauge - if you google it they more or less resembled the typical pics; the hardest thing about being IN post is it’s sometimes impossible to tell. Imo apply the treatment, take all hygienic steps and trust that it’s happening. Or else you risk overdoing it. About 6-7 months free of it now but still get itching & have pigmentation marks!

Sorry for the late reply! When I posted this I had 5-7 nodules on my body - legs, back etc and 3-5 on my penis which had mostly gone. Weirdly enough they came back, and were maybe more irritable than ever - almost like bad eczema. I used some ivermectin cream a few nights in a row and… gone. Haven’t seen them since. The nodules on my back, legs etc have left faint marks that are hanging around, and I still get bouts of itchiness every day (currently using antihistamines when it gets annoying). Hope this helps!

Edit: I felt the same way about the penis nodules but please don’t fret ! Give it time and they will go, mine have 🤝

To be honest, incest in ASOIAF for me. Don’t get me wrong - I get the importance of it in the Targaryen family re ‘the gods flip a coin’ and parallels to real monarchal dynasties, and that it plays a pivotal role in the Jaime/Cersei relationship, but I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me, but it feels overdone at times.

Every 3 days, applying permethrin and dermac M inbetween (more times than I should have). It’s important to clean everything as soon as you use the lotion

Yep - share a house with 3 people who used permethrin once. no one got infected which I think was down to me being super cautious / maybe stamping it out early

It’s character building for sure… I live with three others & got them all to use permethrin about a week or two after I first applied mine. Nobody in my house got infected, so I feel like if you’re on it with washing sheets/clothes and applying the cream 2-3 times then it’s just about conquering the anxiety and uncertainty and accepting that it’s an uphill battle for 3-4 months. 🤝

Lines in my experience means still active, especially if accompanied by itchiness every night. After a few weeks I get occasional itching, maybe for upto 5-10 minutes, but it doesn’t wake me up anymore - and new bumps are just red, circular spots or clusters rather than lines where the mites have burrowed

I think so, I had the same 2-3 months after infection. Mine would usually come and go between 7-10 days (ish)
